Saturday 7:30 p.m. Check-in very busy?

We'll be checking in at the POLY at approx. 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday (April 27th to be exact) and was wondering what check-in is usually like at that time on a Sat? We have an ADR at Ohana's at 8:40 that evening and was hoping to at least have our bags in our room before heading to dinner. I'm wondering if online check-in would be best in this case but am concerned if my room request will be squashed by using on-line as opposed to doing regular check-in ? We have a Lagoon view and my request is for Tahiti 1st floor...do I do on-line or chance it not being very busy at regular check-in?

By that time of day the check-in desk is much less busy than late morning/early afternoon. We normally check in by about 11 AM, and have to wait maybe 10-15 minutes total. By about 4 PM we might walk by the desk then and there's not more than 5 people at the desk. Under no circumstances can I see you have any problem making an ADR at Ohana 70 minutes after check in. By that time of day your room should be ready, so you should be able to take your luggage straight there, and come back to the lobby for the Ohana ADR with at least 30 minutes to spare (if you don't mind hanging out there).

In my experience, online check in has no bearing on what, if any requests, are granted. My only concern in that regard is the time of day you're getting there. If your request is a common one, it's very possible that request has been given out by mid-afternoon when other guests get their rooms. But since you're paying for a lagoon view room, you'll have a great view no matter which LV room you get. I'd go ahead and do online check-in, if only to save maybe 5 minutes when you get there. That way, you pretty much just get your KTTW cards, your packet and room # and you're off to your room.
