I got a 3mos. free trial with XM radio in my new car. I liked it so much that I recently paid for a full year at about $12/mo. The cost per month depends on how many years you sign up for. To get the $9.95/mo., I would have to purchase a 3 yr contract. I went with one year because who knows what will happen with XM radio within the next year or two.
Anyway, 2 of the best features:
- No loss of signal while on road trips - even while driving through mountains.
- No commercials (on most stations)
To buy radios/receivers for a house, I think the initial investment can be fairly expensive - around $200+. However, I've seen some posts about car kits that plug into a cigerette lighter in the car for less than $30.
