Where should we pack our sat nav - check-in baggage or hand baggage?

Mine always stays in my handbag, whether its here in the UK or out in the US!

Definately hand luggage, then you can use it when you collect the rental car

I wouldn't put anything of value in a suitcase. We are like a mobile electrical store when we go away, carry it all with us.

Long Answer.
We put ours in our suitcase for travelling over here - even though I knew we needed it when we picked up the hire car. I don't know what I was thinking - probably over excited whilst throwing the last few things in the bags :yay:
Obviously when we then landed we had the extra headache of trying to find it in the suitcases whilst stood by the car.
To me it wasn't a major problem - but it turns out that women are very sensitive about having their underwear on show in the middle of a very public car park.
Short Answer
Hand luggage.

So are we! Laptop (or 2!), camcorder, DSLR, Compact camera, 2 mobiles (that are PDA types so at least we don't have to carry a seperate sat nav), DS, PSP plus chargers, spare batteries etc. I am actually worried how we are going to have enough room for it this year with baby stuff too to fit in the hand luggage.

Thank god we bought DD a seat means we get an extra luggage allowance :rotfl:

So that's 'hand luggage' then? :teeth:

Thanks, everyone :)

At Xmas we had 3X laptops, Digi SLR+lenses, 3X Digi Compacts, underwater cam, Camcorder, gameboy, PDA, PDA/Satnav, 3X MP3 players, Garmin GPS, 3x Mobile phones, Spare batteries, films, chargers. Wireless Travel router, cables. thats all I can remember.:scared1:
Going out never a problem but they have really tightened security coming home, last 3 times stopped at X-ray at MCO for additional checks, last twice no problem even a laugh and a joke with them but the one we got last August was a right misery and I wound him up(not a good thing to do really).
