Sat Jan 30, 2016 7-Night Tortola, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay From Port Canaveral

I booked our excursions, very excited :) :cool1: For Tortola we'll be going to The Baths, and for St Thomas we'll be doing the full beach day. Have not booked anything for Palo or Remy, still need to talk about that.

This will be our First Cruise! We Love Disney so we trust it will be a Great experience! It will be My Husband, Myself, and Our 19 year old Daughter. I'm trying to educate myself about the trip as quickly as possible.⚓❤️

Hey JanSpencer - It will not be your last DCL cruise. Easy to get hooked on a Disney Cruise. Meet Karl Holtz, President of DCL on our last cruise in the Coffee Cove getting coffee one morning. We chatted for awhile. Really nice guy.

Have fun!

I Get more excited with every thread I read! Your Coffee Cove experience sounds like a once in a lifetime chance encounter.Awesome!

Thanks⚓

Yes, it was amazing. He told me about his grandkids, etc. I asked him what made Disney and Disney Cruise lines so great. He said the people they hire make it that way. They are pretty particular and demanding. I believe he is also President of Adventures by Disney. He also hinted at the addition of two more ships.

More ships! I like! Exciting to hear! :yay:

My family and I are going on this trip, it's our third cruise, but our first time flying down to the port. I was wondering what is the best way to get from the airport to the port? My travel agent said rent a car, but that seems like a hassle to me. Any advice would be great!

Thanks

You can take The disney ground transfer. You hop on a disney bus from either a WDW resort or from the airport and it takes you straight to the port, no muss, no fuss, for the low, low price of $35 per person per direction. Just call the disney cruise hotline and they can schedule your bus transfer.

There's other options, just not ones I've used. I'm sure someone else can chime in with other options.

Thanks. I will look into this. We still have to book a place to stay for the night too!

We just changed our reservation from the 4 night Bahamas cruise on February 1st to this one. :)
It will be our 7th and first time going to Tortolas and St.Thomas.

I would suggest using Disney transportation over renting a car. Also, if you stay overnight in PC then there several hotels who will have a park and shuttle service via your hotel stay.
I would check out the park and stay hotels in PC too.

Depending how many of you there are renting a car might be cheaper. For the two of us it's usually a draw depending on the rental prices. You have to pay tolls and then have to drop the car off at the rental place and get a shuttle to the port from the rental place, tip the shuttle driver. But if there's 3 or more then it would most definitely be cheaper to rent the car. And if you're staying off property I don't think you can get the Disney transportation. I'm not sure where you're going to stay of course.

Congratulations on changing your cruise! :)

Hi everyone! This will be our first Disney cruise. My husband has been on one other cruise line before. Our 2 small kids will be joining us as well as our best friends who have been on DCL before! I am so excited and am interested in joining a FE group if it's not too late! I've searched and searched this site, but can not find a link. Thanks in advance for any help in the right direction

A couple of things ...

1. Since it appears that no one has taken on the responsibility of managing the FE for this cruise, I'm willing to do it. Just need some guidance on what would be expected of me as that coordinator.

2. How does one go about putting a personal photo in that block to the left of my posts, that currently just houses a question mark? I couldn't find anything in the preferences.

Hello!
If you click on your name on the top right of this page it will take you to your page where you can add a photo after you go to your profile page. Hope this helps!
See ya real soon!
