Hi! I'm looking for a place probably on the Dining Plan for the morning of our departure and before spending some time at Downtown Disney. Would Sassagoula Floatworks be a good place for breakfast, then take a boat to DTD? We would also be interested in PO because that's probably the next place we'll stay if we get to go again.
Thanks!

Yes, because they have beignets! They are so delicious! :yay:You can look at the menu on allears dot net for what breakfast options they have. If you are in DTD, Wolfgang Puck Express has breakfast as well. There may be others that do too.
Port Orleans is a nice resort, enjoy checking it out! :)

I second the beignets!!! So worth it!!!!

Wolfgang puck express at DTD does a nice breakfast for a CS. We've enjoyed the omelette and breakfast pizza and i've read rave reviews of the cornflake french toast.

I second WPE. I stayed at POFQ last time and was really disappointed in the food court, especially for breakfast (really recommend the resort other than that). I can't imagine eating there if you didn't have to. If you're determined to go to another resort first instead of straight to DTD, I'd say at least eat at Riverside Mill at POR, which has an omelet bar, and then take the boat from there to DTD instead.

Where are you staying? If you seriously want to take the time to check out the PO resorts, then Floatworks is fine. But it's small, menu is limited and nothing you can't get elsewhere except beignets (not a big fan, sorry), and not worth a trip there just to eat.

We loved the beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks. When we stayed there in March we had breakfast every morning there (except for one) before heading to a park. They also have other pastries and breakfast items on the menu. I think your idea is fine, especially if you want to visit the resort for a potential future stay. We loved staying at POFQ, it is one of our favorite moderates with POR at a very close second.

Yes, very good CS breakfast. Gotta love fresh biegnets, and I enjoy the boat trip immensly.

Click the dining report link in my siggy for May 2010 and we have a full review of Sassagoula with pics. :)

I'll second the omlet bar at Riverside, we make a few trips to the Riverside Mill Foodcourt each trip.
