Hi We are new DVC members and we have planned a vaca for Sept. Where is a good location? I want to be close enough to everything, yet far enough away... does that make any sense??? THanks

Of the areas we've stayed in at SSR, the most close-but far-away in feeling was the new Grandstand section. It's close to the CH, the boat launch, the bus stop, the spa and the restaurants.

The Springs is also close to the main building (CH,etc), but it doesn't feel as distant as the Grandstand.

Congress park and the Paddocks would be closer to DTD, but further from the main areas, and the Carousel seems to be the furthest from everything.

Good luck in getting a great location!

ty ty ty, I cant wait to go, I should look at a map of the place and check things out!

Is there abuilding or room number available for a 2 bedroom in the grandstand section or congress park? We need 2, does anyone know if they will be close to each other?

I like COnrgess Park. Quiet... quick walk to DTD and the walk to the front is not too bad either... maybe a 5-10 minutes depending on how fast or slow you walk. Also, if you don't want to walk, then just hop on (I think the DTD bus or any other bus... it says at the stop) and it will drop you right at the front at the very next stop where youc an hit the bigger pool, food, etc.

You won't find out until you get there. They don't give room numbers until then. I'd request the sections in the notes... I seem to have better luck getting those rooms if I request when I reserve and THEN mention again at check in. Check the unofficial guide to Disneyworld Book and they list what they consider the best rooms... Mainly for views and quiet...

There opinion on Saratoga I thought was spot on... THey are not too kind to Beach Club, which you'll find flies in the face of a lot of DISers... I think it is usually voted favorite DVC (mine though is probably Boardwalk... we own at Saratoga)
