Saratoga (SSR) refillable mugs "refill station" locations?

My family has recently decided to switch from staying at the Swan to SSR. We're debating on getting the refillable mugs (because we know we could just put drinks in the fridge of our 2 bedroom studio). My question is this: is there more than one location to refill the mugs? My DM read somewhere (who knows where... she can't remember) that you could refill them somewhere by the pool at the GrandStand... is this true?

Any other information regarding this?

Does anyone know if SSR has the "generic" YOAMD refillable mugs?

I will be at SSR in August. I believe I read that you can refill the mugs at the pool bar in the Grandstand section.

I thought you could only get refills at Artist's Palette. But I could be wrong. We don't buy refillable mugs when we stay at DVC resorts. It's so much easier to just fill up the refrigerator.

Our only concern is that lots of the food that I can eat (gluten free... I'm in the process of being diagnosed with Celiac's Disease or just a gluten allergy... I'm having a test done next week to confirm it one way or another ) has to stay refrigerated... so it's going to take up lots of room. More room than your "typical" foods would take, as gluten-y stuff can live without being refrigerated.

So... I guess, really... we're just trying to plan ahead and REALLY think about what all we need to pack (driving in 2 cars from Atlanta) and what we need to purchase there... and where it all can be stored. Even though it would be cheaper to purchase drinks (12-pks, 2-liters, whatever), storing/icing them might end up being difficult.

We've requested to be at the GrandStand, so if we could refill there then it might end up being worthwhile... or if there were any other refill stations other than Artist's Palette (ie, in the different sections of the hotel)... that would work too. We'd really have to invest in coolers if we were way away from Artist's Palette (if it is, in fact, the only refill station.)

We saw refill stations at Artist's Palette and High Rock Spring Pool near the bar. Didn't visit the Grandstand pool. The generic YOAMD mugs were being sold. Try searching the DVC Planning and Mousecellaneous forums

I've only saw refill stations at Artist's Palette, though the last time I was there, Grandstand wasn't opened yet. I'd keep in mind that IF there is a refill station at the pool bar at Grandstand, that it probably won't be available 24 hours, only the pool bar hours. Also, if you are in a 2 bedroom unit, you'll have a full size fridge, the under counter models is only in the studios (you might have both if you get a one bedroom and a studio joined to make your two bedroom).

The 2BR have aa BIG frig...holds at least as much as our frig at home. I think you will have plenty of room for drinks in the frig...if not leave them on the counter and put them over ice...the freezers all have rather prolific icemakers and there are ice machines by all of the bus stops if you need more.

Requesting one area at SSR is not even close to a guarantee you will get that area and you could be a LONG way away from refills...you can play it by ear after you get there and see where you are, where the refills are available and how the kitchen space holds out. Personally I think refillables are more trouble than they are worth at all of the DVC's especially OKW and SSR.
