I am thinking of renting points at Saratoga Springs next year. I am taking my adult children so I will be paying for three units. I know that the preferred areas are closer to dining and Carriage House but would like to know if someone could tell how far the non preferred areas are. As in miles, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile. Like the farthest area from The Carriage House if that makes sens.

I just did a quick map view and it looks like it's about 1/2 mile from the main building to the furthest points of the resort.

Thanks so much, I’ve been looking at the maps but couldn’t figure it out.

We will have one car for seven adults and three children. Only one group is driving. This trip will be expensive so I’m trying to cut costs where I can. We’re taking everyone in honor of my sixtieth birthday

The preferred area closest to the Carriage House, main pool and dining is the Springs area. The preferred Congress Park area is actually not close to those and is no closer than the standard area Grandstand. Congress Park's advantage is possible good views of the lake and closeness to Disney Springs. The standard area that is furthest from the Carriage House area is Carousel and from there the walk is still no more than 1/2 mile. The Paddock area also seems like a long hike but it has the advantage of having a bridge that goes to the Springs area over the lake that divides the two.

Personally I would not be overly concerned about the walks to dining and the Carriage House from anywhere at SSR, including because the walks are usually pleasant and scenic. As for reserving a standard area, many like the Grandstand because of possible good views of the golf course, being fairly close to the Carriage House, and being the first bus stop both going and coming back from the parks. Of the five area bus stops, the Springs is actually the last coming and going and the most iffy one when going, particularly in the rush times in the morning, when it has the highest risk among all the stops that the bus will be full before it gets there.

Personal view if I were going to do standard with a large group would be to request the Paddock area, close to the Paddock pool (the second themed pool at the resort), which would also put you close to the bridge to Springs and not prohibitively far from Disney Springs.
