My husband and I decided to plan a trip for the two of us at the end of April- :cool1: (we're taking the kids in June). :thumbsup2 We called today and asked what resorts Passholder rates were available for, and about the only thing they had was a Studio at Saratoga Springs. We've stayed at several Disney resorts(value, moderate and deluxe), but don't know much about Saratoga Springs. What can you tell me about it? Will we like it there? Thanks!

Its georgus. Its comfortable. Its proximity to DD is fantastic for a grwon ups trip. I highly recommend it! Have fun!

Here's the pool.

I would go over to the DVC forums, you will learn alot about this resort there.
Not sure if you will like it there...depends on what YOU like.
Its a large, sprawling reosrt...peaceful, quiet, great feauter pool along with other pools in certain sections of the resort.
Right across from DTD, you can take a quick ferry boat ride over....and there is a SPA on property!

(meant...feature)

Thank you for your replies!
The pictures are great- I'm getting more excited now- It sounds perfect, we're looking for something more on the quiet side.
Aaaahhh- DVC forum! That's where I should have been looking for SSR-
I didn't even think about that- I'll head over there and see what else I can find. Thanks again!

Also check out the thread at the top...a "sticky" there is a thread with just photos! have fun!

A studio will have a queen sized bed and a double sleeper sofa. With just the two of you, you can leave the sleeper sofa folded up and use it to sit on. You'll have a microwave oven, undercounter refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster.

For two adults, SSR is a very nice place to stay.

While it may not seem like much, you should be aware that the bus stop closest to the pool and main hub is the last to be picked up AS WELL AS the last to be dropped off. It may not seem like a big deal (It didn't for us at first, haha), but having standing room only on most rides combined with long waits when you return turned out to not be so much fun. Other than that, its fantastic! The restaurant is great, the pool is great and the gym is really very clean and stocked compared to other hotel gyms I've used.

Shoot, how could I forget the spa!!! That's another adult dream.

We have stayed in the studio before and had a great time. We had 2 kids with us so you will have even more room to spread out.

The Springs is the section to request if you want to be close to the main pool area, restaurants and spa. We stayed there a few weeks ago. This is a VERY large resort so if you want to be close to it all...I would request the Springs.

I think it is the last to be dropped off for the bus stop. But if I did not have any children with me...I do not think it would be a big deal.

Enjoy!

Thank you for all the info. I'm pretty sure we'll be renting a car so we won't have to worry about the buses. I'll request the Springs building, that sounds perfect as we will definately be taking more time to enjoy the resort since we won't have the kids with us. How far in advance should I book a spa treatment?

We stayed there last May and really enjoyed the resort.

Wow! It IS beautiful! We usually stay at either POFQ or Poly, but I think we will really enjoy this change of scenery.
Thanks for the pics, they are awesome!

We stayed there 2yrs ago because my mom and step-dad have the dvc, Itr was fABULOUS! My favorite disney resort thus far. The pool has a waterfall and you can walk right into the pool just like you can the ocean. The rooms are extremely clean and beautiful. I felt like we were in paradise!! I loved it so much!!!! I am dissapointed that this year we will be staying at pop.

You will love it there. We have stayed there twice and it was a fabulous experience.

tip: Try and run into Rita at the Artist Palet gift shop. She is a wonderful person and has a great love for pin trading.

SSR is a beautiful resort - from the water features in the ponds, the DTD views, rabbits, otters and birds you see in the morning. The main pool is beautiful as are the smaller ones. It's a huge resort, but there's a lot to look at and do. SSR has a wondersful spa and there's a community hall where games/ceramics are held. The list goes on and on.

As for the rooms, they are beautifully decorated. Being a newer resort, it doesn't have that worn look that some have.
Have a great trip.

We have been twice and I loved it. It was peaceful, beautiful and the cms were very nice and helpful. The bus service was great also. I don't think that you will be disappointed.
