Saratoga Springs...what's it like?

We are traveling to Saratoga Springs in less than three weeks for our first trip as DVC members. We are staying in a three bedroom Grand Villa. Has anyone who has stayed at SSR give any idea what it's like? How many buildings are open now? Are there any tips for requesting a specific room or building? We'd ideally like to be close the main pool. How far away are the rooms from where you park typically?

I just toured SSR a few weeks ago and ended up buying into the DVC. On the tour we got to tour a Grand Villa. It was so beautiful- everything is brand new and the furniture is very expensive looking. Lucky you. The dining room is huge. I hope you have a great stay. I want to bring my family some day to WDW and stay in a Grand Villa.

You will want to say at the Springs to be close to the main pool.Its just across the street.You should be able to park very close to your building.Its a very relaxing place to vacation.You can also walk to DTD would take about 10min or take the bus over.I would guess there are 6 to 8 buildings open by now.We will be in a 2br in just 8 days for our 4th stay home. Hope you enjoy SSR as much as we do.

SSR is a large resort. If you want to be close to the main pool than you probably should request the Springs. It is located directly across from the main pool. Although, remember that request are not guaranteed. You can park your car fairly close to where you will be staying. You should also consider the Congress buildings. They have a very nice view of DTD and the quiet pool there is excellent. It also has a hot tub and barbeque area. The pool is rarely crowded and quiet relaxing. DTD is only a 10 to 15 minute walk. I am sure no matter where you stay it will be very enjoyable.

Have only stayed one night so far but found the atmospheare to be very relaxing and quiet. Loved the walk to downtown disney.

the view from one in DD (congress park) was so much better than Springs. I would go for that one!!!

Did the tour in July and bought. Toured the 2br and the grand villa. I thought the grand villa was just out of this world but we will never have enought boughts to rent ............

that is unless.............................. I can presuade my lovely Sis - in law to merge her points with ours

quite happy withthe 2 br room though it was lovely to can't wait to go for the first time but have to wait until next July
