i was curious what people have liked or not liked about the saratoga springs spa, how does it compare to other places youve been outside of disney world?

i was so disappointed when i didnt have a chance to go the last time, i think i should have more time to go when i go this weekend.

thanks for the help all!

I love the SSR Spa facilities. I've had a couple of good therapists there, but neither one still worked there last time I checked. I'm also very spoiled with a finding a fabulous therapist here at home. I miss hanging out in the locker room with a whirlpool and sauna pre and post-massage, but I get a much better quality massage at home versus than any I've gotten at any spa either at Disney or in other big town spas. I'd book a treatment if I wanted a day with a gals at the spa type thing. I won't get a massage there everytime I head to Disney anymore. I didn't get any sales pressure, but that also varies from what I understand. Just put "no sales pitch" on your paperwork. I would inquire as to which therapist is most requested also. ;) I know a few others that adore GF's spa. Nikki Bryan runs all of Disney's spas so it's a preference of location, facility type, etc. Is it a must-do while in Disney? Probably not. If you'd like to experience the spa then book it and don't second guess your decision. :thumbsup2

Last year I had the mystical therapies treatment and I liked it enough to want to do it again this time! I'm also going to add in a mani/pedi because I've heard they do a fantastic job. My DGF had 2 massages, a body scrub and a facial, and she said it was all fabulous. I also did the MT on our first day, right after we checked in- it was a wonderful way to kick off the vacation!:cloud9: I have been to some very nice spas, and thought this was really nice- not the most luxurious ever, but very, very nice. Go and have fun!

I had an adirondack stone facial which I LOVED (best ever!!!) and then the hot stone massage which was only so-so (I think it was really the technique I didn't like as much).

I have a question, though. Does anyone know what music they play in the spa? I would LOVE to get my hands on the CD. It was soothing and somewhat Native American. I LOVED it!

My DSIL and I had massages last summer and my oldest DD had a mani/pedicure. It was a wonderful morning. After our massages, we showered and sat in the whirl pool and chatted. The attendants were very nice. My DSIL wanted to go back every day, just for the relaxing in quiet.
I don't have massages on a regular basis, so I have little to compare it to other than our local spa. I would do it again.

I wouldn't be surprised if they sold the CD at the little "store" in the lobby. :goodvibes

I wasn't that impressed with Saratoga's Spa. The massage was very good, the manicurist kept doing her own nails in between doing mine, which I thought was odd. The Spa itself wasn't great compared to other Spas I've been to. I went to one at a Four Seasons and nothing has compared since though, so maybe that is ruining it for me!
