Saratoga Springs Questions

I just booked a long weekend in Dec during free dining for me and my daughter. It's a birthday celebration - my 50th and her sweet 16th. I was nervous about booking here because of the size of the resort, but who could pass up a deluxe resort with free dining and park hopper. Anyhow, does anyone have any suggestions of what part of the resort we should stay??? We have a "DELUXE STUDIO". Since I'm traveling with her by myself, I'd prefer to stay either close to transportation or main building. Thoughts/Comments/Suggestions - PLEASE!!!!

Also, how is the busing situation to/from the Parks?

This is just a guess, but since SSR has divided into standard and preferred, I would think you might get standard since there are more of them than the preferred villas. Standard is Paddock (which would be my suggestion for you as it is not too far from the Carriage House and Artist's Palette), Carousel and Grandstand. Preferred is Springs and Congress Park. Paddock, Grandstand, Congress Park and Springs all have bus stops.

Grandstands Near Pool/transportation is what I always request at SSR, it nets you:

• First bus stop which is important at peak times for a resort with far too little bus service for the amount of people it houses
• Relatively close to boat transportation to disney springs
• Relatively close to Carriage House (Main building/lobby/QS/TS)
• Relatively close to Main Pool
• Grandstands Pool and Pool Bar

Having stayed at Congress Park, and Grandstands I will never not request Grandstands when I stay at SSR. Although the Springs is locationally more convenient to more things within the resort it has the worst bus service as it's the last stop for everything other than Disney Springs. It's also the drop off point for Tree House Villa residents so Springs and THV have to contend with 3-4 previous bus stops worth of people already on the bus.

If you get Grandstands it will be faster to get Disney Springs by either taking the bus from Grandstands to Congress Park and then walking over or walking from grandstand to the boat launch behind the carriage house than to get on the bus to Disney Springs and stay on it.
