Saratoga Springs Questions

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos of this resort and am very interest in staying there on my next trip. I was wondering if anyone could give any advice as to what section to stay on. I don't have small children so I'm willing to walk a bit but still don't want to be too far out. The Carousel section looks too far for me. I'd like a pool. I was considering The Congress but there's no bar or food near by. I do like the quiet pool. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just and FYI whenever I stay at POP I like the 80s, it's a bit of a walk but if you dont mind crossing the parking lot, the busses aren't too far. And when we stayed at CBR, I can't remember the section but it was in between the check in and the food court, with a nice quiet pool.

I've only been once. We stayed in the Grandstand section in the building nearest the main pool. There is a smaller pool in that section with a bar. From that building, it was a relatively short walk to the main pool, dining, spa, etc. The Paddock section also has a smaller pool and a place for food. Congress Park is nearest Disney Springs if that is important, and you want to walk there. You can also catch a boat to DS near the main building if you aren't staying in Congress Park and don't want to walk.

Hopefully, some DVC owners will chime in with their knowledge.

Paddock is nice because it has its own top quality pool, slide, hot tub and quick service by the pool. You can also walk a bridge from there to the main pool/lobby.

I also like the Paddock, and it was a short walk to the main building.

I've stayed in the Paddock and Congress Park. I liked both places. When I stayed at the Paddock, the pool was closed but it was an easy walk to the main pool. I liked that we could walk in the morning to the main bus stop and had a quick trip to the parks. In the evening, we could get off closer to our room.

I loved how close we were to DS when we stayed in Congress Park and my kids preferred the quiet pool. We had an amazing view overlooking DS and the quiet pool. We were on the first floor and loved how easy it was to hop over to the little pool and back to our room for snacks/drinks.

Many people say you need a car at this resort because it is so big. We didn't find that to be the case at all.

I like the Grandstand. It has its own pool, it's a close walk to the carriage house and main pool, and it's the first stop on the bus route. This means you can usually get a seat as by the time the bus gets to the later stops (especially for MK in the mornings), it can be full. You also get dropped off first on the way home. I would request Grandstand next time again.

Love the Grandstand area. First bus stop. It's about an 8 min walk to the main areas. That's the only place I've stayed in SSR. I may have to try the Paddock area for a change.

Well first the Springs is great. Paddock rooms in the 5000s ,right next to a main pool and the bridge to lobby.

I have only stayed here once but stayed in Springs right next to the main bus stop and the main pool. Great location.

We like Paddock, but we've only stayed there. It's also a close section to the road, so you don't drive a whole lot into the resort.

Stayed there is December and loved the resort. highly recommend the Springs or Grandstand section. Both are very close to the pool and main building. I also give Grandstand the leg up b/c its the first bus stop for pick up and drop off.

We stayed in The paddock area from Aug 18th to Sept 3rd last year. The only downside with that area was that the pool closes so early.

The Grandstand pool is considered a "leisure pool" and therefore doesn't close. I would try there if you want a late night swim.

Nope, all the pools have posted hours. Since they started gating the pools, they are locked when it is not open.

Would you happen to remember what time the Paddock pool closed last year when you were there? We are going the same time this year.

I believe it was 10PM. Each resort staff had to cut costs, and they chose to close the pools an hour earlier than almost every other resort. Upset me greatly, especially when people who stayed at cheaper resorts got longer pool time.

Wow, that sucks. With 9pm park closings, I was hoping to get a few minutes of relaxation in the hot tub afterwards, but that seems highly unlikely. I really wish they'd at least allow adults to quietly use the hot tub after hours.

It's crazy. One extremely isolated incident among hundreds of millions of visitors, and now everyone has to suffer.

I thought you could still get to the laundry area in the Paddock section after the pool closed. I know you have to go into the pool area to get to the laundry room for at least that section. Yes I do laundry on vacation.

Yes you can still go into the laundry section in the paddock area. Although the signs say "pool closed" the gates aren't locked.
