Saratoga Springs Question

Hi there! For the first time, I may consider renting DVC points for a trip. We were looking at Saratoga Springs because we won't be on a meal plan this time and need to get to Downtown Disney a lot to eat. Will we be able to walk to DTD from this resort? How long of a walk is it?

There is a very nice walkway from Saratoga Springs to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). If your villa is at the far end of the resort from the walkway, you can take a bus to the Congress Park bus stop and walk from there.

There's also boat transportation to DS from the Resort.

Depending on where you are, the walk may be long... just depends on how many steps you want to complete each day. It's doable and a very nice resort!

There is also a boat from SSR to DS, nice short ride definitely cuts down on the walking. You can also walk from Grandstand section using a golf course bridge but it is a fairly long walk. A couple times we were walking that path and a cast member in a golf cart saw us and gave us a ride right up to DS.

It is a booking category and also more expensive. If you choose a cheaper rental you could be fairly far from DS

We are from the uk and not used to that big yellow thing in the sky (i.e. sun!) and walked to and from the Grandstand area a few times in when we went a couple of years ago in August time. Not that pleasant in the middle of the day as we found it too hot but not too far. It was a lovely walk coming back in the evenings walking alongside the Congress Park area.

Is there a bridge from the Grandstand area? Im looking the map but having trouble picturing the way from the Grandstand area to DTD. Thanks!

From most areas including Grandstand your fastest way will be to walk to the Carriage house walk through it to the back entrance where the boat is. The boat is very fast as it only services SSR --it will occasionally go to the tree houses but only when guests are waiting for the boat or on the boat form DS going to the tree houses. The boat will put you in the middle of everything where as the walkway will put you by the Christmas store and you may end up walking in a circle. We like the Paddock area -- request pool view-- that will put you close to a bridge to walk to Carriage house, a pool that has food as well and a bus stop. It took us around 5 minutes to walk to carriage house from this area. We did also walk to DS and is you follow the bike path and turn left when you get to congress park through the parking lots it is a 10-15 minute walk to DS--you need to look at the map close as a wrong turn will make the walk longer and on the way back and can put close to Carriage house...

Ok, thanks, my next questions was about the boats! We usually stay at Riverside and you could be waiting awhile for the boats to DTD and often they are full.

There is a bridge not far from the boat launch area, walk past where the golf carts are parked and follow the path. It does take you to the West side of DS so it's a fairly long walk to the store & restaurant area, but we enjoyed it.

Ok, I see! So there are to ways to get to DTD walking from SS, and each way takes you to a different side! Ah-ha! Lol
