saratoga springs prices 2015......

My wife and I are staying in a Studio at SSR in three weeks. The resort was on offer when we booked last June.

Our package included Virgin flights from Manchester, two week unlimited park tickets (£556) and regular Dining Plan. The cost was £4,270 total.

So deducting the likely flight cost of £1500 and the dining plan at $60.64 a night each, we look to be paying around £85 per night for the SSR room.

Its difficult to compare a package compared to room & tickets price or a deal that includes free DDP to one that doesn't etc.
For me that would be too high. For 3 of us on DDP + £85 for the room that would work out at £194/nt.
First year we stayed at OKW we paid £80/nt thru to the last time at £118/nt, £194 would be too much but I wouldn't book a package.

The current quoted prices for some 2015 dates and room types seems inflated and in some cases a lot more than Disney's US rack rates for 2014.

Here's a few examples over two weeks from Sat 24th January 2015 which is in value season so the cheapest time to go.

All-Star Sports is £1,372 on UK Disney while the rack rate for those dates in 2014 was $1,452 so about £865 and therefore over £500 cheaper than the UK site.

SSR and OKW in a studio for those two-weeks is £3,752 on UK Disney while the rack rate for those dates in 2014 was $5,138 so about £3,062 and almost £700 cheaper than the UK site.

Not 100% sure but I don't think US Disney would ever charge a higher price than their quoted rack rate and yes, the rack rates I choose was the cheapest as an OKW Studio in value season is $367 per night while the highest over the Christmas period is $531.

And is it just a coincidence, because if you average those two rates ($367+$531) you get $449 and at today's exchange rate that's £267.56 and guess what, the UK nighty rates works out at £268.00. :scratchin

This tread makes me nervous...

For our 2013 vacation in SSR we paid 3585 pounds (17 night, ddp and 14 days tickets) and of course we know we will be paying more for our 2015 holiday.
But i'm hoping it won't be to high, we really loved SSR studio's.

If it's to much we are looking at CBR as a plan B.

Hopefully we will know in 2 weeks.....

Very interesting, thanks for working all that out. Does seem very naughty of them.

Ah that is quite naughty that they are getting he same rate for us and USA!

Surely the benefits of going to USA is the exchange!

We paid about £1100 back in 2012 for our 2013 trip for 8 nights at SSR I think? That was a studio.

If you look at a 14-day vacation from Sat 8th August and returning Sat 22nd August 2015, then Disney's UK price for the standard room at either of the Port Orleans Resorts is £2,240.

US Disney's rack rate for the same 2-weeks in 2014 is $2,762, that's £1,647.50 at today's exchange on Google, so almost £600 less.

While on UK Disney you can book the same 2-weeks in 2014 for £2.310 in a garden room at the POR's.

But if you go onto UK Expedia you can book a garden view room for the same two weeks in August this year for £1,351.36.

Plus you currently get 12% off through Quidco with a Expedia booking, so about £1,188 after cash-back and therefore Disney's UK 2015 price of £2,240 is £1,052 (89%) more expensive than you can book now for this August..:scratchin

So will the expected discounts come 24th April really be a room discount?

Maybe need to do a bit of homework :surfweb: before booking and hopefully (fingers crossed) the discounts with free dining and a gift card will still be worth while for most DIS'ers......
