Hi All!

Well thanks to these great boards, I have now rented a studio at SSR for 5 nites in May. I know next to nothing about it. Can anyone tell me about this resort? Dining options, should I request certain building, transportation issues, etc. We will be traveling with our 22 month old toddler, so I know the kitchenette will come in handy, but what else do I need to know. Please help me out here.

Counting down until our 10th Anniversary and my 42nd birthday at our favorite place! Thanks :sunny:

Hi! SSR is a lovely resort, we really liked it. You might request a room in the Springs section, which is the closest to the main building (food!) and the main pool. It's also a quick walk to the bus stop to get to the parks. There are really no dining "options" at SSR --- just Artists Palette, which has some grocery offerings to bring back to your room, as well as take out food they prepare there. Good food. You can also walk or boat over to Downtown Disney, and there are many restaurants there.

One tip for the pool -- they offer free lifejackets for little ones. Just go to the Horsin' Around Rentals and ask. It makes it more relaxing at the pool knowing that even though you're watching, your child is definitely safe. (I discovered this when taking my 3 to the pool by myself -- it was the only way I could possibly consider it!)

We just got back from staying at SSR, in The Springs. The Springs is nice because it is right across from Artist's Palette and the main pool, which is zero entry and has a Donald Duck splash fountain. There is a bus stop right at The Springs as well (although I did see other bus stops scattered around other areas as well). Also near the Springs, just a short walk over the long bridge, is a great little playground.

As the other poster said, Artist's Palette has a dine-in or take-out option. You wouldn't need one of those dining options added. They prepare everything fresh and have breakfast and lunch (and dinner I believe). (Note, my husband said the brownies are incredible). There is also a small grocery section (better selection than I would've thought for a "hotel").

You can also walk over to DTD (w/out having to go on the main road). There is a paved path/sidewalk (right next to the boat dock). It leads you to the West Side.

We are not DVC members, so we got housekeeping everyday too. And for your little one you can also request the following: pack n play, crib, bed rails, booster seat, highchair.
