Hello!
Were going to be staying at SSR (congress park) for 2 weeks in oct. Is it worth walking the 10 mins to DTD to get the transportation from there?? eg will the journeys be more direct or more frequent than from SSR???

Depends on where you are going. If you are going to the parks, DTD busses don't go to the parks. If you are going to different resorts, then that would be one of the places to catch the bus.

As per PP, there is no service from DTD to any of the parks.

Even traveling to another resort, morning service from DTD is spotty, and during the afternoon when TL is open, you can probably get there faster by taking a bus to a park and transferring than by walking to DTD.

I have to ask.....how do you 'know' that you'll be in Congress Park??? There are seldom any promises made as to location of your room/villa.
Anyway...I would try it on foot the first time, and then by bus the next time...then decide how you want to proceed from there.

Definitely not.

Buses from DTD don't go to the parks at all.

Even if you're trying to get to another resort, transferring at a park would still generally be a better idea than transferring at DTD. DTD bus service is pretty slow.

It actually does work well with SSR/THV, POR/POFQ, and OKW because of the water taxis.

I stay at POR and take the DTD buses back from a resort in the evening after a late meal.

The water taxis run every 10 minutes after 4 pm, and I don't remember waiting more than 3 or 4 minutes for the water taxi. I don't remember waiting more than 15 minutes for a DTD bus from the resorts.

That particular area does have its advantages in the late afternoon/evening hours.

Agreed ... the buses into DTD in the afternoon & evening are fine; it's the buses out of DTD that are a hassle.

So the OP could take a bus from another resort to DTD MktPl and walk to SSR, or stay on the bus to PI and take the boat to SSR. The last boat leaves PI at 11:30 p.m., and buses into DTD don't stop at the MktPl after about 11 p.m.

And once again -- no direct buses between DTD & any theme park.

Thank you for all your help guys! Have only stayed on site once and that was at GF so travel was very easy. Going to take me a few days to get my head around the transport.

i dont 'know' i am going to be in Congress Park but when I do my online check-in I will request it. Its my preferred area of SSR so im hoping they can meet my request, but any area would be fine.
