Saratoga Springs Availability in mid December

I am currently in negotiations with another Disboard member to rent points for a 10-day stay at Saratoga Springs Resort from Dec. 7-17, 2008 (Studio room).

She can currently book me the first five nights of the trip, but has to wait until the middle of May to book the remaining five days because she is out of points.

My questions is, do you think that I will still be able to book the remaining five days of my requested stay at Saratoga Springs during the middle of May as it is less than seven months out.

I know that this is a very busy time of year for DVC members and I would like some help before I make my decision.

My 10-day trip is for my honeymoon and I would prefer to stay at just one resort during the entire trip.

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated as I am very new to the DVC world.

It sounds to me like your owner will use up her SSR points on the first 5 nights of your trip, but has points from another DVC resort that she can use to book the rest of your trip. May would be when the 7 month booking window opens for December. At 7months prior to check out, owners can use their points at any DVC resort (subject to availability).

FWIW, even though December is a popular time, there is almost always a lot more members trying to get into the VWL, BCV, & BWV than there are trying for SSR. And SSR is a very large resort - the largest of all the DVC resorts.

Bottom line: I do not think it will be any problem at all for the owner to complete your December reservation at SSR when the 7 month window opens in May.

I booked 6 nights at SSR in August for a 12/16 thru 12/22 stay in 2007 with no problem.
