Aloha,

We're staying at Saratoga Springs for the first time (couldn't get OKW or BW) in November, and I'm wondering if anyone has advice about room requests.

When we stay at OKW, I normally ask for walking distance to the Hospitality House. Is there a need to make any sort of special request at Saratoga? I have no clue about the resort layout, etc. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Nancy

We have stayed in the Springs, just across the street from the main pool, Artist Palette and Community hall. Great location! We have also stayed in Congress Park great views, quiet pool, and a fairly short walk (5-10 mins) to main area and about (10 min) walk to Down town Disney. We have enjoyed both. This trip I have requested Congress Park.Leaving in 18 days!!!!!

We always request the Springs, too. It's a great location- near the main pool, food areas, Community Hall , tennis and basketball courts, and a bus stop.

Paticake,

Thanks so much for the advice. I'm feeling totally clueless about this trip, but I guess that's to be expected since we've never been to SSR before.

We have been once and stayed in Congress Part and really enjoyed it. We had a group of 3 families and enjoyed the ability to be able to walk over to DTD at night. The walk to the pool took about 10 minutes but wasn't that bad.

We would like to do this again and I am wondering the best method for requesting Congress Park again?

Mike, how was the bus service to the parks from Congress Park?

Aloha Paticake,

I have a bus question, if you know. At OKW, the bus stops at the Hospitality House on the way out.

Do you know if the bus stops at/near the Community Hall/the Springs on the way out?

Thanks.

Nancy

It was my first stay at WDW in about 25 years so I don't have anything to compare it to but it seemed very good to me. It seems as though our longest wait was 15 minutes or so.

In April we stayed in Congress Park. Not only did we have fantastic views of DD, we were right next to the Congress Park bus stop. The bus service was fantastic, except for one evening when we just missed the bus to MK - had to wait about 30 minutes. Otherwise we didn't wait over 5 minutes for any transportation. From Congress Park there is only one more stop (Springs) before the bus heads to the parks. Worked great for us!

We found the walk to the Carriage House to be about 5 - 10 minutes - very easy and pleasant.

We didn't request Congress Park, so I'm not sure the best way to request....maybe call Guest Services and have the request added to your room reservation?

I'm sure you will enjoy SSR - it is wonderful! I know we are looking forward to heading "home" at Christmas.

Have a fantastic trip!

Mike, all you have to do is either call and make the request, or send an e-mail request via the Members website. I've always had my requests honored. If you liked a particular unit, you can ask them for the same unit, too. At OKW, I know which buildings I like, and specifically ask that we be assigned in one of them.

We too love the Springs section - it is so close to everything - restaurant, shop, spa, and main pool with slides, plus it's just a hop, skip and a jump to catch the bus. It's a beautiful resort and you'll love it.

Aloha everyone.

Thanks so much for your advice and help. I've requested the Springs section, and we'll see how it goes. It really does seem funny to be a novice after making so many trips to WDW over the years. It'll be an adventure. It is interesting that I haven't heard any complaints about SSR. Our home resort is OKW and really I love it because it's so peaceful (none of the frenzy of the parks and hotels), and the units are huge. I'm looking forward to the trip. I think it will be nice to be in walking distance of Downtown, too.
