Saratoga Springs 06/07!!!

Just booked our vacation. 2 Bedroom Villa at Saratoga Springs!

We did Old Key West in 2005, and it was great, so Hopefully Saratoga Springs will be equally satisfying. Disney Dining Plan, Park Hopper Option, we are ready to have some fun...

I Avoided DELTA airlines (since they are on the brink of bankruptcy and/or a take over). Paid a little more, but, I don't have to worry about my airline going bankrupt now.

First time at Saratoga Springs! Any tips?

How is the best way to get to DownTown Disney from Saratoga Springs?

Any Saratoga Alumni, please give me any tips you have.

There are 3 ways to get to DTD: boat from behind the Turf Club (check hours...doesn't run all day), walk (paths from either behind Turf Club or at the far end of Congress Park, or take the bus.

You will love the 2BR -- having a washer dryer and the eat in kitchen is great.

Be sure to check the Community Hall schedule...lots of things to do there for adults and kids....Daily games at the pool in the afternoon plus there is a poolside bar (no food). There are bar-b-ques around the resorts (can borrow the equipment from Community Hall), tot lots, and of course the quiet pools and hot tubs. Depending on when you go, the new section with the new theme pool could be open (rumor is April).

There is a small store at the AP area....prices are fairly reasonable....They have breakfast food stuffs, milk, juice, beer, wine, etc. This is also where the souvenirs and stuff is sold, plus the take out/sit down food. Can be a bit crowded during meal times.

Hope this helps...We're going home May 13 for 5 days...can't wait.

I stayed at Saratoga Springs in November. My room was in Congress Park so I could walk to DTD. I loved the quiet pool there, which looked out over the water across to DTD. The resort was spread out, but manageable. It was very pretty. It was definately the kind of place where I wanted to spend more time instead of less. I found the bus service good. No complaints. Everything was A+++.

Stayed at SSR in July of '06. Unfortunately, we were only there for one night but, we loved what we got to see and in fact we're leaving tomorrow to stay for 3 nights for my mom's birthday because, we liked it so much.
The grounds are nice and the pool was very nice too! I hope to check out the activities at the town hall this time too ( I think thats what they call it!)

The only tip I can say is that if your on the first floor, spray yourself with bug repellent if you want to sit on the patio in the evening. They aren't screened and I got bug bites that I didn't even feel until later. (They itched like crazy but, it's FL it can happen!!)
