Sarasota/Bradenton SRQ rental car counter q

Planning a split stay at my parents' in central FL, and a couple of days a SSR, and it's significantly cheaper for us to fly in and out of SRQ (and it's near my parents' house) but my quandry is that the flight lands at 11:40pm, and all of the rental car counters "close" at midnight. Is this worth the risk, or should we fly into Ft Meyers or Tampa instead? Will have 3 kids, so getting stuck in the airport overnight isn't an option.

I'd check with the individual rental counters. We did this several years ago into Ft. Myers. We landed w 30 minutes before 'closing time". DH went straight to the rental counter and DS and I collected our bags. The woman at the counter told DH that they wait until the last plane lands.

I wouldn't call the corporate number, but find the local number.
