Sarah's Moving 2 AFRICA! The trip planned in 4 days! * THREE parks in ONE day! 5/10

I have never been to a rope drop ceremony. It sounds like so much fun.

Minus the near pants wetting. ;) Dang confetti! :lmao:

I can't wait to see where you race to first!:goodvibes

William is back in the hospital!!

This is William, for you guys that have not had a chance to read Lauren's TR...(link below)...

IMG_3621-1.jpg

He has been having GI issues off and on for the past year. He has been sick with a "virus" since Wednesday and Lisa finally convinced his ped doctors to let him come to their office (the treatment has been done on the phone all week) - he just looked bad - pasty white. They sent him to the ER to get a CT. The CT showed 10 inches of his colon that is "hardened," fluid in his pelvis and an enlarged spleen. He also has blood in his stool, fever that won't break, but his white count is not elevated (which to me, is not a good thing...I want those white blood cells elevated so they can fight the infection!)...

Anyway...they have not seen the GI doctor yet...but I will post updates as soon as I have something to tell you guys...

I am so sorry to hear that, Maroo. They'll all be in my thoughts and prayers.

The opening of MK - one of your pics includes a suffrogete - a women (Think the mom in the Mary Poppins movie) who stood and fought for women's right to vote!! (my grandma did as did dh's grandma!)

WeddingPictures-somedisney029.jpg

As soon as we said - thank you for cheering us on at the Half - we were on the WISH team - they love the WISH team!! One of the suffrogets gave dh her business card!! and it said "Future mayor" on it!!

Yep, dh is signed up to do the Goofy - me, the half!! I do 16 min miles, dh - he's faster, and is afraid he'll be stuck by me!! :rotfl: ok, not so funny, see he has to complete it in 3 hours to get the Goofy medal - I just have to complete it in 3 hours 30 min to be"official" -

I did it in '08 and want to do better - so I'm going to do it in '10!!

You'll do great Maroo - I'm telling you - those WISH screamers are awesome!!

You've done a race before? Before I did the half, I only did a 5K - I didnt want do do anything before a Disney race!! Disney Half was so special!! Lots of entertainment, LOTS of support - screamers!! it was great!

Now we see how bad I am at history! Science and Math, I can do in my sleep...history. Not so much.

We definitely need to find each other for the half...we walk about the same pace (I actually walk/jog...hopefully...by then)...it would be great to have someone out there and not be so by myself!

Did you use headphones for the half?

see - the woman in the pink - same lady in your pic at opening!!

btw I always collect a handful of that Mickey Pixie dust - then when I run into crying kids in line, or at an attraction - I ask the parents if I can give them some magic Pixie dust!! and I tell them, that if they drop it, its magic for someone else!! Its always good to drop it for someone else to find - and you never know - as you walk around you may see some that someone dropped!!
:wizard:

That is a good idea! :)

Look at it this way... you won't get trampled in the stampede!

Kathy

That is true! No stampede for us!!! :) I will have another update out tonight, I hope!

Never forget about the rope, it's very important!!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

What!?! :scared1: You have never been to a rope drop? No way.

I will update more tonight! :) I hope to speed things up before I forget some key points!! :thumbsup2

I am so sorry to hear that, Maroo. They'll all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you!!!!!

Poor Baby.

Sending prayers and pixiedust.....

Kathy

Thank you!!!!!

What a fun opening ceremony! Hope we can make it there in time to see it!
My DH is a last sleeper! He wasn't happy with my 8:10 reservations for breakfast at Akershus!!

Praying for William!

adding prayers for William, his family, and of course his doctors! May the peace of the Lord surround them as they heal and care for William! :wizard:

Maroo my "thing" is "wogging" I feel as if I am jogging, but dang, walkers pass me by - and I cant keep up with some of those walkers! I'm determined to be in better shape to pull off a 15/30 min/sec mile!! I have headphones, but didnt use them, there was so much to see, hear, feel - it was overwhelming! and I loved it!! You really need to buy a WISH shirt - it gives you so much... courage? pride? plus while you run - all the dis people cheer really loud - FOR YOU!! Its great! You are never alone!!

wogging...

that is cute!!! :) lol

I am going to PM you about this race stuff.... :thumbsup2

Great update! I love Mickey head confetti too - my DD gathered some and but it in her backpack and I sometimes still find it and it always makes me smile.

So sorry to hear about William. Sending hugs and prayers to him and the whole family!

Mary: Yes, I'm following this trippie too, of course! I am looking forward to hearing what happens as you share "the World" with Sarah and Amy...and also the stories of meeting the other Wish Trip families.

I'm sorry to hear Lisa may not be going along this fall. I hope she changes her mind. As you know, I am also facing the guilt-ridden "there's no way I can go away" feeling, so I can relate. It's really tough to get away because appropriate help can be very hard to find. I am hoping that this will improve once we move back into our house (3 weeks today!) and Mark has an elevator, accessible bathroom and so on. With the weather improving and charity run season offically started, I am thinking it's time to get off my you-know-what and work harder on the treadmill. It helps that I've lost some weight and feels like there is less of me to move around!

You'll find that having crowds, cheering and other entertainment is a wonderful distraction when you are feeling tired. I can only imagine how much fun it is at a Disney race!

Have you heard any more information about the actual registration and hotel possibilities for the 1/2 in January? I am still feeling like getting away for that could be my own Everest-like challenge...getting in shape to run 13 miles might be the easier part!

Looking forward to the next instalment...

Alison

We don't have any details yet on the GKTW team...I know they are going to do it, but not sure what hotels...what the set up will be for that. As soon as I know, I will post it here, on my Wish Journal and the Wish Trippers Unite thread. Depending on those details...and what Lisa decides...will determine which races I end up doing and on which "team"...

I think Lisa getting away is really the hardest part of the whole thing!

Congrats on the weight loss! It does make walking/running/jogging a LOT easier! :thumbsup2

I say...train like you are going to do it! And then let's see if we can work it out!!! :) That is what I am doing!

WILLIAM UPDATE:

Here is the William update. His K+ was really low, so they have been giving him lots of K+ all morning. It has gone up some, though, so they are tapering off of that a little bit now. His fluid balance was all off. So he is getting lots of quick fluids. But he continues to be really sick, so it is leaving him as fast as they are giving it to him (and I will leave out the details on that) :rolleyes1

His GI doctor has not been by yet, but it does sound like everyone that has been by says that he will be there tonight.

Lauren is going to stay with her grandmother tonight...as it is Spring Break here (bummer for Lauren that she can't spend time with her Mom while they are out of school) so that her Dad and Mom can stay with William tonight (Lisa is on call all night, so they will need Dad there, too!)

They have also done a culture...but those results won't be back for another day or so yet...and that is a major piece to this puzzle...so there may not be much info until they get those results.

Thank you so much for your prayers for William and family!!! We really appreciate it!!

Poor William, he really seems to have been through the Mill lately doesnt he?

Praying for some conclusive results so they can start on the healing process tout suite!!

Love Mandy

You are precious...

Your precious baby has brain surgery and you are worried about poor William and what could just be a stomach bug. You are so sweet!!! :)

In fact...William was pitching a fit in the hospital and screaming at us that "you don't understand!!! I am SO hungry...I have not eaten for SIX DAYS!!" (Which is not exactly true...he has had toast, a pop tart, etc...he just has kept none of it down.) He was soooo dramatic. Sweet boy!!

And I said, "You know Becca has not been able to eat for over a month." And his mouth dropped open! Like that. "Really? Oh no. I bet she is really hungry." And then he calmed down some.

Bless him. At least he is hungry. That is a good sign, I am sure!

And I am so glad to see Becca feeling better!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

And thank you so much for posting. :)

I used www.tourinplans.com and had already downloaded a touring plan for adults for the day.

The plan...was to follow it....to the letter! :thumbsup2 As much as we wanted to, anyway!

So...first stop was Space Mountain!

We really were behind the pack. I don't know what I was thinking...I totally missed the actual ROPE part of the ROPE DROP! The show distracted me! No fair. :guilty:

By the time we got to Space Mountain the line was out the door and not moving?! It was pretty far back down the sidewalk, actually. :sad2: I was not sure what to do? Do we skip it? Fastpass it? We are not off to a good start! :sad2:

So we sat there for a few minutes trying to decide. :confused3 And finally decided to go for it...follow the plan...stick to the plan.

Once we got in there, the line was not bad at all...maybe 10 minutes.

Space Mountain was SO MUCH FUN! I honestly thought my ride with Lisa at the MNSSHP was the last time I would ever get to ride the Space Mountain that I knew as a child. I knew it was being refurbished before I would be back...so to get to ride it again was quite cool! Sarah was not sure about this ride. :sad2: I told her she could use the chicken exit! :lmao: But then I said, "See that little girl...she is going to ride!" he he.

Sarah SCREAMED in my EAR the whole time! :rotfl: She called me all kinds of names! She was SOOOOOOO LOUD! She kept saying..."Make it STOP! Make it STOP!" I wish I had the "video" going as I rode it...because it would make for some funny sound bites! Sarah reported that she LIKED it!

When we got off Amy said, "I was just glad you were screaming...because at least I knew you were breathing!" True, Amy! True!

Next up was Buzz Lightyear! The line was very short. I love, love this ride!

Then off to Pooh! And I actually have some pics of the queue (thanks to Amy!)

Sarah is NOT amused... But that guy behind her is amusing ME! :rotfl:

SarahDWTrip436.jpg

Haunted Mansion was fun! I had not been on that ride in YEARS!

(We skipped Splash Mountain...it was too cold to get wet!)

We rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!....

And... (uh oh...no more space in this post...to be continued...right now)

And...

POTC!

And I got some pics for a friend of mine that loves her some Jack! :rolleyes1

If I was going to guess, I'd say 1pm or so...? It would have taken us at least that long, but that is with little ones, strollers etc. :)
