Sarah's Moving 2 AFRICA! The trip planned in 4 days! * THREE parks in ONE day! 5/10

We may have a problem...

Lisa is having second thoughts about going to Disney. At. All.

and you have so been looking forward to the trip with her. Maybe she won't change her mind.

Well...

I am not the only cast member on this trip...and you have yet to even see a PICTURE of one of our cast members...so I better get on the stick!

First, a little report about getting OUT of the Magic Kingdom following Wishes.

It was just me, so navigating the crowds was fairly easy. I feel bad for those of you trying to navigate with a stroller. Or worse, a wheelchair! It was VERY crowded. I was so depressed with the number of people trying to get out of there at once and very impressed with how fast Disney was actually able to get us all out of the park.

The line for the monorail to the TTC was all the way down the landing and wound it's way thickly across to the turnstiles...but it was fairly fast, considering all of the people that had to be moved. The line for the trams once we got to the TTC, though, were quite long and I opted to walk because I was parked fairly close (Dopey, maybe?)

So, back in the room by 10ish and asleep before my head hit the pillow.

The plan for our big day?!?!?

...have Sarah and Amy come to the Quality Suites to pick me up and then to DISNEY!!!

So, up fairly early...got ready...at my FREE breakfast (yum!) and ready for them at 7:20. And guess what...

They arrived right ON TIME!! I have to admit, I was impressed, since they had to drive in from Tampa. I figured they might be dragging a little. But they were there, bright eyed and ready to roll!!!

Sarah was driving.

This is an important distinction to make. Because Sarah is, well, Sarah! You will get several examples of what makes Sarah, Sarah...so here is the first...

She makes her way to the Magic Kingdom parking lot...many of you have made this drive...Do you recognize this sign?

I looked up and Sarah was driving down the middle of the street. With the white lines going right down the middle of the car. She was taking up her half in the middle. What in the world? Is she tired?

Uh, no. She thought the sign meant...that SHE should use BOTH lanes to drive! No, Sarah. You use your lane and THEY get to use the other lane. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah.

We did park without further incident. We hopped on the tram to the TTC.

I proceeded to take some pictures for you guys...

And I caught this monorail coming by!

Meanwhile, my friends were swindling Disney... Well, not really. The plan was for Amy to get the FL resident 2 day park hopper since it was the cheaper ticket. But Sarah could only afford a 2 day regular ticket. So today was just going to be MK and tomorrow Epcot.

But...Sarah forgot her driver's license. Amy explained to the lady that Sarah was her sister. So the lady assumed that Sarah also lived in Florida. So Sarah got the cheap FL ticket, too!!! Please don't tell on us! Technically, Sarah did not live anywhere at the time...she had moved out of her apartment in MS and her stuff was in storage to move overseas...so...I guess she was residing in Amy's house at the time?

Anyway...I was taking pictures of monorails. That is all I have to say about that!

But now we all had PARK HOPPERS!! Now, THAT changes things, doesn't it! hmm...

OMGosh! I have not even thought about that! That would not have been good. Her DL might have been in the car, though? I think she just did not have it with her? I will have to ask her?

I thought it was pretty fast. Wishes started at 9:00 and I was in bed by 10ish...not too bad? I think it took me about 35 min to get back to my hotel. I think that is fast? But maybe not. Certainly not "Contemporary" fast!

Great updates Maroo! I am glad you got to do some things you missed previously. We love the Lion King show!

Sorry to hear Lisa is reconsidering a trip - she better have a good reason lol!

I don't really know her reason? I think it is a mixture of things. They have had a hard week at their house. I think she is imagining what it will be like without both of us there for several nights.

Dying to hear just how you utilized your hoppers! Never done that, so am curious if the time to hop was worth it to ya'll.

Use both lanes made me laugh so much - both because it was so funny and I have a friend who is the same way. One day my friend was stressed out planning a surprise birthday and she was blowing up balloons with her mouth and said to me why won't they float in the air. Trying not to laugh, I said because they have to be filled with helium to do that.

Looking forward to reading about your day at the MK and park hopping!

After being blessed with park hoppers! We hop on the monorail to head to the Magic Kingdom.

Now, this is always fun for me! I love riding the monorail. I love seeing that castle.

But to ride the monorail with two adults who have NEVER BEEN TO DISNEY is so much MORE fun!

Amy, who I had never met, seen or even spoken to before today - was very laid back. We actually got along very well! I figured it might be a little strained...since we didn't know each other. I wasn't sure what her expectations were for the day. But both of us a pretty laid back folks, so we got along great.

It was chilly, by the way. So I did go ahead and rent us all a locker so that we could store our jackets later!

The opening show was pretty cool. I am not sure what I was expecting. I don't think I was expecting people dressed like this to be singing, though?

Then the train...

Because I was in the BACK...by the back rail...and THESE...

came out of nowhere and landed on my head!

It really scared me!!!

But no time to be scared! Because the rope just dropped!! And we... are nowhere.... near the rope!

In Sarah's defense...this is not something she would normally do...really. I think she was just trying to figure out where to go and took the sign literally...when she read it in her mind she heard "use BOTH lanes" and thought that was part of the instruction... Oh heck, I don't know!!

I posted opening ceremonies! It gets faster here, soon, I promise!! I will try to get us all the way to lunch next post!!

will you be at the half this year? I am getting nervous because my trips keep changing and it looks like I might just be going to the half? Instead of doing the 13K first or anything...makes me nervous.

The opening of MK - one of your pics includes a suffrogete - a women (Think the mom in the Mary Poppins movie) who stood and fought for women's right to vote!! (my grandma did as did dh's grandma!)

As soon as we said - thank you for cheering us on at the Half - we were on the WISH team - they love the WISH team!! One of the suffrogets gave dh her business card!! and it said "Future mayor" on it!!



Yep, dh is signed up to do the Goofy - me, the half!! I do 16 min miles, dh - he's faster, and is afraid he'll be stuck by me!! ok, not so funny, see he has to complete it in 3 hours to get the Goofy medal - I just have to complete it in 3 hours 30 min to be"official" -

I did it in '08 and want to do better - so I'm going to do it in '10!!

You'll do great Maroo - I'm telling you - those WISH screamers are awesome!!

You've done a race before? Before I did the half, I only did a 5K - I didnt want do do anything before a Disney race!! Disney Half was so special!! Lots of entertainment, LOTS of support - screamers!! it was great!

btw I always collect a handful of that Mickey Pixie dust - then when I run into crying kids in line, or at an attraction - I ask the parents if I can give them some magic Pixie dust!! and I tell them, that if they drop it, its magic for someone else!! Its always good to drop it for someone else to find - and you never know - as you walk around you may see some that someone dropped!!
