SAP+ ?

I would get BLT if you want SAP+ points and VGF or Poly only if you really prefer staying there over BLT. The higher purchase prices combined with the much higher point charts at VGF and Poly still keep it out of the SAP+ conversation for me unless you really love those resorts.

Now that the dues are very similar between all three of the monorail resorts, it is more of a conversation though. For me, I love the theming of Poly but also love the walkability of BLT so I would still probably go BLT for SAP+ and the savings.

Good point. We have 250 pts (SSR) in a 2nd UY for those SAPs. I guess we could always use more though.

We are looking to add because we really like having easy access to MK for one leg of our split stays (6/6 twice per year). Just enough points for 6 nights in Oct when we do MNSSHP. But ALSO being SAP+ wouldn't be a bad thing. That would be secondary.

If you like the parties then I would recommend BLT even more. The other resorts are technically walkable, but I've done the walk to VGF before and it FEELS much further than it seems lol. BLT is so close to walk back to after parties!

My vote is BLT. The short walk over at the end of the night just cannot be beat.

If you are studio people, I also don’t think Poly studios will be all that hard to get at 7 months. The longhouse ones were already fairly easy.

This is a great point. VGC has me spoiled on short walks and I love parties and after hours events. Seems that I am back on the BLT train.

No, we are 1BR leaning towards 2 in the not so distant future.

I love the idea of just walking back after the party, but the quick boat ride was very nice as well. Both options are preferred over the monorail...for us anyway.

I've ran that path before and it always sounds like something I would love to do. Oh, a really nice walk along the lake with my family on our way to MK. Then I think about my 9/7 yr old girls and how they would be complaining the whole way. As my 9 yr old likes to say, "this is an inefficient way to be spending our time". I decided against including that into our park day. :bored:

For me, the boat ride back to CCV is the thing that cannot be beat. Yes, I might need to wait for a boat, but I just love the ride across the lake, and the theming of CCV (and PVB) is so much more my jam than BLT.

So now it's BLT, VGF or PVB. I feel like we need to add one of them to our current resorts.

If you're *not* studio people, then the BLT bathroom layout in the larger units, plus the easy easy walk, would be the determining factors for me.

If you are soon to be 2br only, and you really love VGF or Poly, then maybe I'd suggest you think about VGF or Poly. I know from my own experience that once the new resort studio points sold out, it was much easier to get a studio (if you didn't care where you were), while it was quite a bit harder to get a 2br. 1brs were still not that hard.

Poly 1-2br layouts seem to have the +1 bathroom which will be great. We took another family to BLT last summer and having 3 full baths (and showers) for 8 people made a HUGE difference. I'm hopeful for the refurb, and you could probably get some good deals now.

It's just the 4 of us and the girls like the murphy beds, for now, so really the 1-Br for the next couple of years and see how it goes. I am someone that does like additional space though, so we shall see.

The 2-toilet situation in BLT (and Kidani) are really nice to have. It's always a challenge to adjust to NOT having that setup when we move to the next resort without it.

Good resale value, lower point charts, room setup and location to MK...those are pretty powerful advantages.

When I think BLT, I think of the chaotic Contemporary lobby. I've never even walked over to the BLT portion. Probably should do that in Feb.

I completely agree. I loathe taking the boat from Swan/Dolphin to EPCOT when I’m with friends who don’t want to walk so I assumed I’d feel the same at CCV, but completely different experience. So relaxing!

That's why BLT is so great! You have all the stuff in the Contemporary (including some terrific stores, eateries, and California Grill) but once you walk across that walkway listening to some Jesse Cook, it is relaxing and quiet.

My first stay in 2016 (I think), my kids used to wake at dawn and I'd sit watching the boats coming in through Bay Lake.

You should be in sales 😂 I’m sold!!

That’s really good stuff. It’s all about these types of memories for our girls.

I need/want 1 more contract but decided it has to be Florida. I was all in on BLT. Now I back to being all over the place again. I feel really good about my Aulani Sub contracts. More and more of them pop up recently.
I'm in that stage of thinking as well. Stayed at VGF in Oct and wanted to purchase when I got back. Then I thought BLT would be a better value, especially post-refurb. Now PVB resale is dropping, MFs decreased and it's looking more like the Tower will be worth a look.

So now it's BLT, VGF or PVB. I feel like we need to add one of them to our current resorts.

What a rollercoaster… I was going to get into why BLT should be on top of your list, but apparently you got back there already!! :)

I can’t wait to stay there.

@kboo do you have any preference to inside the ring or outside facing rooms? I feel like I don’t want to face across from other rooms.

We were 1BR folks for years, with the kids in the living room, and it always seemed fine to us.

The first time we did a 2BR - a big family & friends trip, so I thought I’d spoil the kids with their own room and so that the living room could be used for gathering without their stuff everywhere - my oldest son initially said it was “unnecessary” and I “should have saved the points.” But after a week in a 2Br, we never wanted to go back, lol.

We can absolutely make do in a 1BR, but it was so nice getting up and not worrying about disturbing the kids (I’m an early riser), but also they appreciated as they got older having “their own space.”

Now that they’re young adult kids, we’ve started doing lock-offs more, too. They are fine with the pull down murphies and like having their independence - kitchenette in room and door to hallway.

Yeah, crescent lake is just not the same. I appreciate having the boats, but Bay Lake is so different an experience. It’s so relaxing at the end of the day. I know BLT isn’t a very long walk (we’ve stayed there a few times), but it is still a walk and I like just chilling on the boat and soaking in the ambience. And there’s just something about arriving at CCV at night with the soft lights and cricket and bird sounds, too, that is like coming home to me.

We took the boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness for Hoop De Doo and I felt the exact same way. Love the boats! The boats on Crescent Lake are convenient and great, but the boats on Bay Lake transport you to a different place mentally. It reminded me of taking the ferry to my personal happy place as a kid.
