Santa is coming with a mouse!!!

So my wonderful DH isn't the type to jump up and down or really get super excited about things (at least not in the ways I do). When we first started talking about a Disney Trip he was excited but mostly glad I was dealing with the details. I just thought once he's there, he's be excited. Then....

A week ago I caught him on g-earth looking at satilight photos of the Magic Kingdom, POFQ, Epcot, etc. Then a few days latter it was "how are we getting to the house to the airport?" (Is he thinking about details?!?) After my great meeting with his Faculty advisor he was actually warm to the idea of a touring plan when only a month prior he thought that was way too ridgid. Then tonight.... I found him online looking for "cool, not cheesy over the top, disney shirts" Yes you hear me right plural shirtS. My My I think we've got an excited DH on our hands!!:yay:

I'm in the process of debating the photopass thing. I'm just not sure how many photos we'll take on that compared to our own camera. Although to Mrs. Bee's earlier point this would get me in the photos....:confused3 Thoughts...

The last thing we want is DS first memory of WDW to be the view from an ambulance and we would never push anything that would make him (or us) feel he wasn't safe. I know this is Disney and we all let our hair down but on this issue, you're right and its not something DH or I would compromise on. That being said I think there are some rides that he'd be close enough for that he'd be fine and others that even if he were tall enough we don't think we'd allow him to go on. I guess we'll play it by ear and take the lead from CM.

Yeah, I figured you weren't the type to push the boundaries on that kind of thing...so that's good. I've seen quite a few parents and try to get their kids to stand on their tip toes and stuff. But the child is clearly an inch or two shy of the limit. One thing that always surprised me was how short you can be and ride the matterhorn.

Photopass...I'm not exactly sure what it is. Is that when you get your photo taken by CMs? Do they give you a card or something? I've never used it. Do you know how much the cost is for photos? What size are the photos?

Sorry if I'm bugging you with the questions but I thought you or someone else reading this might now.

It's all the pictures CMs take at character meals, meet and greets, in key areas around the park, plus the little extras like you holding Simba or Stich coming out of the ground, etc. A few disers have said they have hundreds of photos on these. You can order these indivdually or on this CD. My understanding is that you can pre-order a CD for $100 bucks or it's $120 in the park. I guess this just depends on how many we think we're going to take. I've heard good reviews but I guess I'm most wondering if there are folks who weren't happy they did it?

I don't suppose WDW has ever considered a place where you could get measured once and get a bracelet, presumably color coded for the different height restrictions? I did that with ds at Six Flags once, because he was just barely over one of the height restrictions, and I didn't want to go through the hassle of measuring at every single ride. Of course, this was when he was 3, and ended up not wanting to go on anything with a height restriction, anyhow! (I was a little bit mean - I was there with just him and dd, then 1 y/o. So, the 1st ride he wants to go on was one of those spinning rides. But, since I had dd with me, but no other grownup, he had to go by himself. After that, he decided that maybe he just wanted to go on the little kid stuff - which was great, because it was a lot easier to deal with!)

Some of the tennis shoes have HUGE soles that can add an inch or two. Most of the time you don't have to worry about them falling out, my DW held on to DS so hard when we was three that he had indentions. Either you have a hold of them or they have a hold of you!!

Some rides also have Photo Pass options. I know that Test Track does but I'm not sure what else. DW loved the Photo Pass pictures. I don't think we purchased the CD but we did get some individual shots that we liked!

Enjoying the report! Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the delay...Christmas planning, snow and work just kept me busy.

We leave bright and early in the AM for a family visit in California. DS is so excited to see his Grandparents.

So here's the WDW planning update. We got our tickets for ME. I'm way excited. I actually jumped up and down. :lmao: It's getting harder and harder not to tell my son. I just know he's going to go out of his mind!

I also wrote the letter he'll get from Mickey today. I used cool Disney fonts and great Christmassy paper. Let me know what you think.

Hiya [DS], it's me - Mickey!

I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas! Your

parents told me that you’ve been a very good boy

this year. Your Mom and Dad are very proud of

you and so am I. So, I thought that you and

your parents could come visit me at

Walt Disney World.

I’ve sent a few things to get you ready for your

visit. Music for you to listen to, a DVD to

watch, a book full of great pictures and a map so

ya know all there is to see. I’ve even planned a

few extra surprises once ya get here! Aw, pal its

gonna be swell!

Gosh, I gotta run. Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale

are comin' over to help me and Pluto decorate

the Christmas tree.

Have a terrific Christmas, pal! And I'll see ya

real soon!

Your pal,

Mickey
