Hi all :)

I have just enquired about upgrading the hotel as a suprise for the others (ie, turn up and drive to the Cheyenne instead)

What are peoples opinions on the two hotels on a "VS" Basis? Is it worth it?

I've been tol the Cheyenne is about 5mins closer to the parks, aswell as being very well themed, I also like the look a lot more over Santa Fe...

It's only £80 to upgrade for the three of us for 4 nights.

I would upgrade. I haven't stayed at Hotel Santa Fe personally (nor do I ever want to :rotfl:) but it gets very mixed reviews, with the bad ones being VERY bad. For peace of mind, I'd go with Hotel Cheyenne. It's a really lovely, atmospheric place and I really enjoyed my time there in November. :thumbsup2

Its no closer to the parks (the Santa Fe is right across the stream from the Cheyenne), but yes, the outside theming is much much nicer at the Cheyenne. The rooms are the same, its just that at the Cheyenne, standard rooms are one double bed and one set of bunks, and the Santa Fe standard is 2 double beds. The facilities at both hotels are similar (which is why they have the same rating).

The Santa Fe/Cheyenne are the same distance from the parks, as back onto each other. It's about 15 min walk I would say.

Lovely on a nice day, and great walking past the lake and through Disney Village.

I would say Cheyenne for the themeing if you had kids. I prefer the chuckwagon Cafe for the food too, buts that's just me.

Santa Fe is good if your on a budget, and the garage just outside the entrance has some good deals on food/drink and snacks.

I found Santa Fe a little dark on a night time if you weren;t near the main building which is lit up in neon.

At Cheyenne you could have pony rides and hire bikes etc, which did not seem to be available in Santa Fe.

Hope the info helps:)

As already stated, they have pretty much the same facilities. Both are a similar distance to the parks. The main difference is the bunk beds.

The Cheyenne is probably my favourite theme of all the hotels at DLP, so I'd upgrade if I were you. The Santa Fe is nice, but it's a little boring.

Thanks all, I think that settles it then :) It'll be a nice suprise for Mum/Sis (8) when we get there, as I was looking up pics of Santa Fe with them the other day, and I wasn't at all impressed with the themeing :(

TY! :thumbsup2

I walked through there one night (to get to the garage) and I thought the same. I actually felt a little uneasy- the first time I've ever felt uneasy at Disney.

to be honest i found both hotels to be quite dark. the bunk beds are the dealbreaker for me not staying at the cheyenne. my aunt stayed there while we stayed in the santa fe and her room felt a little claustrophobic to be. however the hotel itself looks much better than the santa fe. the theme is done really well.

Cheyanne, Yeeeaaaahhhhh. Loved this hotel. Our seventh visit to Disney last October and stayed here for the first time and loved every minute of it.

Santa fe is fine but i did prefer cheyenne tbh. Our room in the cheyenne was much nicer!! but you could be unlucky and get a bad room aswell. The main block is also waaay nicer than the santa fe. There both very basic hotels. When we upgraded to cheyenne we only paid an extra 22euro for 4 nights . Dont think id pay more than 50euro. I would stay in both again depending on the price my first choice would def be the cheyenne.

I would upgrade the Cheyenne is the best themed Disney hotel (IMHO).

The Santa Fe is drab and clearly needs to be burnt down and rebuilt, having said that I will stay there if needs are a must and I want a cheap trip.

That would be "in your opinion" too, right Emma ;)??

Its a good job we all have our own preferences, otherwise half the hotels would be empty, and the other half would be constantly overbooked :).

Of course Elaine ;):lmao:

Don't get me wrong it does what it needs to do, gives me a place to rest my head I just think it really needs a makeover.

I personally wouldnt visit the Santa Fe again. We had a visit from a mouse in our room, and it wasn't called mickey :scared1: . We found it very drab in the hallways and the cleaners left trollys with bedsheets on it in the hallway near us all week.

Agree with all, in my opinion too of course ;)

Santa Fe is the worst themed Disney hotel anywhere really, and although the facilities are 'the same' as the Cheyenne, the two hotels are world's apart.

Again, just my opinion :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

I would upgrade definatley! Stayed in the Santa Fe once and found our room had been burgled when we had got back - not good!

Stayed in the Cheyenne after that and I love that hotel!
