Hi, have read that Santa fe is being refurbished with a cars theme. Travelling for te first time in August with 2 Cars mad boys and deciding between Santa fe and Cheyenne. If we are guaranteed Cars will prob go with Santa fe, but overall reviews for Cheyenne seem better. Any advice?

all the rooms at the Santa Fe already have a Cars theme, and the exterior of the hotel blocks are now getting a subtle cars touch-up too.

DLPDaft you seem to have been to Santa Fe a few times! Recommend it?
We are not expecting luxury, more the convenience of being near the parks as boys are young so we might need a break in the day, but I would like to stay somewhere with a little of the disney magic...

I love the Santa Fe, it has no swimming pool but we rarely find time for a swim anyway at DLP. The rooms are cosy, the beds are amazingly comfy, and if you go for early breakfast (ie before 7.45am) the buffet breakfast is filling and its pleasantly quiet. You can choose, if its available, to have breakfast in the park instead of at your hotel (you ask when you check in to see if its available during your stay). This is at no extra charge.

There are characters there every morning, and you can either walk to the parks (15-20 minutes even at toddler pace) or get the regular shuttle buses.

The external theme of the Cheyenne will win hands-down in any contest with the Santa Fe, the Cheyenne really does resemble a Wild West town. The rooms at the Cheyenne and the Santa Fe are the same size, similar facilities, but the standard room at the Santa Fe has 2 double beds, the Cheyenne standard room is one double and one set of bunks in each room.

I have only been once but we stayed in Santa Fe. If you want to have leisure facilities in the hotel this is not the option. But for just a bed in the night it is great. For its price, it is fine but of course a swimming pool and better theme - you have the higher price tag. But you get what you pay for and it is suitable as somewhere to sleep. I would recommend 100% to everyone.

W went to the Santa Fe on our first & only trip last March, and the bedding was Cars print then :) We found the hotel absolutely fine for our needs, although breakfast was a bit stressful on one of the days (I don't recall which time slot we'd booked but there were NO tables and as a single parent of 2 small girls I didn't have the option of leaving someone holding a table for us while the rest went up to the buffet in stages). We had breakfast in the park 1 day which worked really well, and the third morning was the day that the clocks had gone forward so most people were having a lie in and it was quiet :)

I'd definitely go again. We're going to try another hotel this time but only because I fancy a change :)

We haven't yet stayed at the SF but we have stayed at The Cheyenne twice so thought I'd pop in and give my opinion.....we love this hotel, the theming is fantastic, it totally sucks you in from the minute you walk up to the reception, the beds are super comfy and the rooms are really cosy and warm, our boys love all the little cowboy touches and of course the bunk beds!

We plan on giving the SF a go at some point, maybe next year, before our boys grow out of cars, the rooms do look very cool.:cool1:

Either way, i'm sure you, and your little ones will have a blast! :thumbsup2

Happy planning! :wizard:
