Over the past few months, I have taken up walking and slowly building up to running. Though it's not pretty, I am making the effort. For Christmas, my parents paid my registration to do the half marathon in February. I am so pumped but kinda nervous at the same time. I would hate to make a fool out of myself in front of Mickey and friends. Does anyone know what kind of weather to expect? I am not staying on property so will I be able to park in the parking lots? Are there bathrooms along the race route? Where is the best place for my family to wait for me? I would love any advice from any race veterins.

There's a long and detailed thread dedicated just to the Princess race here:

Some short answers to your questions....

The weather is typically nice (50s or 60s) but could be at one extreme or the other too.

Yes, parking lots will be open, but there will be a lot of traffic, so get there early.

There are lots of porta-pottys along the race route. Plus several spots with trees and bushes too should you need them.

The best place to wait after the race is the meeting area where there are areas set out by letter to make it easy and less crowded.

I can't add a lot to the John's advice. Read the princess thread, there is a lot of support. No reason to worry about making a fool of yourself. If you are already running you have 8 weeks to build up. If you balance your run walks you should have no problem fiishiong, and that should be your only goal!

It sounds like you have a wonderful supportive family, and the Mouse isn't going to judge you.
