Hi All, My son and his wife are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary with a week long trip to Santa Barbara in CA the last week in May. I would like to surprise them with a dinner certificate or an event certicate to something for when they're there. They do not have children. Can anyone suggest some nice restaurants or place to go and see? They love taking wine tours and seeing the sites. Thank you for any suggestions you can send my way. barb in Texas

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Bouchon, which is downtown right off of State St. Wonderful food, great service and atmosphere.

We also went to an Italian place called Ca Dario- good food, but tables were very tight. Not as intimate as Bouchon.

Finally, we went to Sunday brunch at the Four Seasons Biltmore, which I would recommend as well.

There are a couple wineries right in Santa Barbara but for a nice country drive through wine country a trip 25 miles to the north is well worth it. The wineries around Solvang and Buelton are very good. There are over 60 in the area. I like to start north of there at Cambia Winery and head south towards wineries such as Fess Parker, Firestone, and others.

Closer to Solvang my favorate wineries would be Babcock, Mellville and Rideau.

In Buellton I enjoy Firestone restaurant. Just a fun place with great food. Some of the wineries may have upscale unique restaurants but I have not tried any.

We've enjoyed Olio & Limone for dinner.
But wine tasting is such fun - how about a limo trip to the wine area for a day?
