I read on the resorts boards that Santa is in the lobby of WL during the week of Christmas? Can anyone confirm this? We'll be there 12/18-12/24. Thanks!

There was that one year with the mix-up, when they had Satan in the lobby.

On our trip in 2006 at Christmas time, we found Santa in the lobby only on Christmas day. He might have been there on Christmas Eve too but we weren't around the Lodge that evening.

He definitely wasn't there prior to Christmas Eve that year. However, things may have changed somewhat since then and maybe someone can give you a serious and updated response on this as I can see that you are leaving WDW on Christmas Eve.

I don't think their intention was to set Santa up like a department store for a couple of weeks prior. I think they just wanted him to visit on the special day. Not sure if they've changed the philosophy on that.

WildernessDad & Ransom....you are on Santa's naughty list!! :rotfl:

They used to have more characters and stuff around Christmas week in the hotel lobbies; last year it seemed like they toned that down a good bit.

The last couple of years decorations and events have been decreased. The decorating crews have been reduced and the supervisor was let go and then contracted back just to supervise the instillations.

Hopefully Disney will see the light and either stop where they are or reverse the direction a little bit.

Granny :thumbsup2

I am with Granny on this one. Santa was only there on Christmas Eve (of course!) :santa:.

Sorry...I said Christmas Day but I went back and see that my photo is dated 12/24.

And Mickey had dropped by earlier in the week all decked out in appropriate WL Christmas togs:

Too funny Granny. I read your post and thought you (correctly) said Christmas Eve!
See, even when you are wrong, in my eyes, you are right!

Granny, it looks like Mickey dropped by on Xmas eve as well given the date on is picture.

Yep, I was wrong when I said Christmas Day. Funny how the memory thing can misfire. :confused3

Wow, that's a heavy burden! :rotfl2:

You might want to mention that approach to my wife whenever we meet up! :thumbsup2

Just to add: Santa was also at the Poly and GF on Christmas Eve. (he gets around, lol). THAT was interesting, explaining to our 5 and 3 year olds how that could happen. There are also Disney characters in the lobby of the deluxe resorts all during Christmas week. They appeared in pairs, and we saw: Pluto/Goofy, Mickey/Minnie, Lilo/Stitch (at the Poly), Uncle Scrooge/Daisy (at the CR), and Chip/Dale (WL). The resort concierge desk should have a schedule. They are all in holiday garb. If I knew how to post pics, I'd put them up. :santa:
