Sanjaya's Got To Go!!!

I'll admit that Sanjaya sucks, but I'll put up with him one more week to see Phil "Powder" Stacey go next. That dude gives me the creeps!

I'm so glad it's not just me!! When he is singing and starts to really look into the camera, I have to turn away and I'm telling Matt to make him quit looking at me:rotfl: Matt says he doesn't sound so bad when you aren't looking at him

Having said that, AI really needs to change the voting structure because it's getting ridiculous. I'd rather vote to kick a person out than keep one in. Then I actually might put some votes in!

The problem with that is that a site like votefortheworst.com would just refocus their attention on eliminating the best performers, so you still wouldn't end up eliminating the Sanjaya's of the show, but rather, eliminate the Melinda's instead.

I don't think votefortheworst is necessarily about keeping a really bad singer. I think it's more making a point that a website can have power that nobody ever thought possible.

Poor kid, give him a break.

I also blame the judges. He is no better or worse NOW than he was in Hollywood, yet they put him through. It's like they set him up.

I actually feel really bad for this kid. He must know how badly people want to see him get the boot, and that's got to be horrible for a 17 year old who is a shy teen to begin with. Talk about pressure and humiliation.

Last night he looked like he was going to cry, and I felt so sad for him. At this point, he probably wants to go as badly as we want him to.

I just wish the judges would give him a break and not pound him into the ground like they do. It's clearly not his fault he's still there.

I so totally agree with you.

What in the world is going on?????????????

This guy (?) is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I blame Paula, Randy and Simon for putting him through so far!!!!

Please join me, won't you!!!!!

He's gotta go!!!!!!!!!

I am with ya! I blame the 3 judges for putting him thru this far also! I have a feeling he will be around for a while

Look, let's be honest, Brandon was not going to win anyway. He was not that good. His days were numbered anyhow. It really does not matter what order they get voted out as long as the best are around at the end. Yes you can argue that Brandon was better than Sanjaya, and I agree with that, but in the end it really does not matter.

It might not matter to you right now-- but it sure does matter to all of those who actually like someone right now and want to go to the AI concert tour. I certainly wont be going if he doesnt win next week-- id actually pay NOT to hear him sing!!

Yikes-- lets hope next week he really gets the boot-- the poor kid doesnt deserve to be humiliated in front of a huge crowd who wont mind to boo and throw stuff!! They might be monitored and warned in the arena they are performing now-- but im sure if he came to my town-- it would get ugly!! Its just the way it is:confused3

Those of you who are feeling sorry for him-- voting for him-- are only making this situation worse. He is only humiliating himself and you are prolonging it. Its obvious by his face that he knows he isnt as good-- hes having to deal with the negative media, the boos when he is 'safe', he knows its his time to go. You are just putting him in the line of fire even more. Like I said in my previous post-- if you want to do this kid a favor-- let him go home. This isnt his time and we know he wont win. It will be a shame for him to go on tour and really feel what its like to have people against you.

Instead of feeling "aww-- I must protect the young boy"-- protect him in a realistic way, let him go home so he doesnt have to deal with this anymore.

Again I ask, how can this be blamed on anyone but the fans?? Randy said he was unlistenable, I pay no attention to what Paula ever says, and Simon called it an utter mess (something like this). The judes put him into the final 48 I think, but after that it's been all fans.

Some feel that this adds fuel to the fire and its a type of psychology game. If Simon says one thing, the American public will do another just to keep him steamed for the next show. Since Simon is so controversial -- his words apparently are worth a whole lot. :confused3 I dont know-- thats somes take on it though.

I understand what you are saying....I think Simon is usually right in what he says...but again even taking what you say, it's still the fans voting, even if they are playing this psychological game. I can't see how they can be blamed for telling the truth.

Well, I personally thought there were a lot better choices for the top 20. Randy, Paula and Simon chose Sanjaya for the top 20 and the Vote for the Worst people always do their part :sad2: Remember Scott Savol and Chicken Little?

I dont necessarily agree with it;) -- and apparently I REALLY dont agree with the majority of americans voting-- because SANJAYAS GOT TO GO!

Ummm, I'm not voting for him. And I doubt anyone else from these boards are included in the "those of you" that you're referring to. The college kids from votefortheworst ARE. They, along with the 10-year-old girls who think he's a hottie are the ones who are keeping him on the show.

If you check out the AI thread and read over it well you will see that a whole lot of people are voting for him because they feel sorry for him. They openly admit they are trying to 'protect' him.:flower3:

And I highly doubt that the vote for the worst movement is making that big of an impact on this. its been around for years and has never done so. There are people out there who actually are voting for Sanjaya with good intentions-- not because they want to see the show fail. There are far too many strong followers out there for this movement to have such lasting effects.

Ultimately, I agree with you....people should simply stop voting for this kid and let him go home. It's bordering on cruelty at this point.

You are right-- it really is sad. If that were my son/brother/etc and I knew what was going on I would literally be humiliated for him. He knows, he isnt stupid-- he actually seems like a really smart guy. :sad2:

Ugh, I know what you mean. I look at this kid and I swear I feel so sad. When he went back to the bench (or whatever) after Ryan said he was safe, I think he looked like he was SOOO hoping he'd be going home to his mom. Hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) this will be his last week.

I wish people would stop saying stuff like 'he stinks'. Poor kid, this has got to be so stressful for him.

Who??? We LAMBAST him over there!! ;)

Sanjaya, like Antonella, has a huge fanbase. Not here but on the AI boards. Of course there are the detractors but remember, this is not Survivor, we cannot vote someone OFF. If that were the case Sanjanella wouldn't ever been on out screens!!

It gives AI LOTS of buzz AND VFTW has gotten more press today than it has since it's inception. Sanjaya is the comic relief now, in a very humdrum season.
