SanFran/Yosemite/Sequoia/Cali Coast

Can someone give me any tips/pointers with tent camping in the Central California area? Our plan is to fly into San Francisco with our gear, rent a van and head to Yosemite, Sequoia, and then possibly camp along the coast as we circle back up to San Francisco to fly out. This would be late May/Early June depending on campsite availability. Yosemite campsites are highly competitive and we missed out last year. Instead, we flew into Vegas and did Grand Canyon, Arches, Bryce and Zion. We had a fabulous time and are looking forward to doing it again. I kind of have an idea which campground in Yosemite we want as well as Sequoia, but I am completely clueless on which area we should be focusing on south of San Francisco along the coast! Any tips for any of the trip would be appreciated. We've never been this far West, (we are from Missouri) and are looking forward to a great adventure! Thanks!

We live in Tucson now but lived 55 years near Oregon coast. Spend lots of time on California coast. Great places from Ventura up Hwy 1 (VERY CURVY) beauty beyond compare. Santa Barbara, Solvang, Hurst castle, Big Sur, Carmel, Santa Cruz, SF. Yosemite is great but coast is better.

Lol , scenic rt 1, curvy is an understatement. Pretty if your a passenger, or stop along the way. Make sure to add extra time as its a slow drive.
