We have been trying to get a good car rental rate and I think I have finally done it! But here is the problem:

We fly into Sanford and are renting the car from MCO.
(Much cheaper)

How much does it cost and how much time is involved to go from Sanford to MCO to get the car?

What is the best way? Cab?

I think we are just sending DH to MCO and he can come back to pick us up. (We have 7 people)

Anyone ever done this?:upsidedow

Thanks!

I'm sure people have done this but the cab ride would probably cost you $40-50. It would probably be a good idea for 1 or 2 of you to drive down to MCO and then drive back to retrieve the others unless one of the taxi's in line at SFB is a van that could take all of you and your luggage for the same price.

But are you sure the rental car price difference is that great to make this worthwhile? Travel time between the two airports is only about 30-minutes one way but $50 of your savings went out the window with the taxi ride. And if you're renting at MCO, can you return the car to SFB for the same rate or do you have to do the whole thing again in reverse? I guess you're renting a large van if there are 7 of you.

I think a taxi is the only practical way to do this unless you obtained a 1-day rental at Sanford dropped it at Orlando International and picked up your other vehicle.

Your plan of DH going to get the car and coming back to get you means that you guys get to hang around the Sanford airport for about an hour and a half (Assuming it's not rush hour).... I don't think that there is much to do there either.

Thanks for the replies.

Since earlier today I found out a few things.

The taxi/van ride would be about $67 dollars from Sanford to MCO. It would be able to take all of us for that price.

And as BobK said, it begins to defeat the purpose. Considering we will need to do it both ways.

But since earlier, I was able to get the mini van price at Sanford for the MCO rate.

I am very excited about that!

Thanks everyone!:yay: :yay: :yay:
