Sanford to I drive hotel - how long

How long will it take us to get to our hotel by Seaworld, from when we get off the plane in Sanford at 3.15pm.
Would 2 - 3 hours do it

I would say that from picking up the car to hotel should be about 1.5 hours. As with every journey it depends on the route taken and the traffic.

How long does it take to get through customs,and claim your luggage etc. ?

We've had good and bad experiences at Sanford. Assuming your plane is scheduled to land at 3.15pm, I would say 4.45pm (i.e. 1 1/2 hours) would be the minimum you are looking at assuming you get an easy ride through Sanford and you know what you are doing/where you are going. We were over an hour collecting the car one trip and when you add that to 1/2-3/4 hour taxiing and clearing customs and immigration, plus a 3/4 hour drive, you could be looking at 2 1/2 hours.

The good news is that it's a really easy drive on a virtually empty toll road.

We have always found sanford to be quick and pleasant with little in the way of hold ups.

Arriving at that time in the afternoon means there will be the usual rush hour traffic on the road s especially I4, so we take the 417 - The Central Florida Greeneway. It had very little traffic on it. Took about an hour to get to Villa on 192, And a highlight, when driving over the bridge at Lake Jessup - just south of Sanford, you can see the gators.......

I think UKDEB's timings are pretty accurate

I was planning to use the 417. Theres a little map in the back of Simon V's book, and it looks like a pretty straight forward drive.
I'm still dreading it though. DH isn't 25 until January, so the insurance would of been too high for him to drive.
He'll be chief navigator ( thats not a job I would of liked either, any wrong turns will be his fault now )

Driving's a doddle. Navigating - well that's a different matter. We found that the signs are generally placed either on or after the junction which you need!
