We are flying into Sanford because of the good flight deal we got. I am thinking of renting a car because after 4 or 5 days at Disney we are going to Northport, FL. for 4 days. Is it easy to drive from Sanford to CSR? Our flight does not get into 10 pm and we don't need the car at Disney. Just trying to figure it all out. I am going with my two daughters.

Will you be looking for transportation to Disney and renting a car at Disney? You could search the web for transportation one way to Disney or take the the taxis from the Sanford Airport.

I wondered if I should just get a shuttle to Disney from Sanford and then rent a car at Disney? I wasn't sure if you could do that. That's what I was looking for help on. I then could then rent a car for 4 days as opposed to 9 days.

There is no shuttle service, for domestic flights, from Sanford Airport. The taxis, car service or car rental are the only available alternatives.

When you check out the so called shuttles you should notice they charge per person. I looked at one and they stated minimum of 4 persons. That is the price of some of the car services from the same airport for up to 10 persons. The shuttle companys will not take one or two passengers to Disney for a price of about $42.00. Don't get fooled by the deceptive information on the sites.

I suggest renting a car at Sanford and keeping it through your trip -- especially since you'll need a car for your Northport trip anyway.

We rented from Alamo in July and I have Dollar reserved for our trip coming up in February. Our flights from Lansing, Michigan also arrive around 10:00 p.m., so it is kind of a pain. But, the drive from SFB to our resort (SSR) was not bad. I think we did it in about 50 minutes. I did a yahoo map before we left and it was a help. I was traveling with my DD12. She was a decent navigator for about 10 minutes, then she fell asleep.

While we have done Disney many times without a car (and I LOVE Magical Express), when we have a car it gives us better options for dining and makes going to the waterparks easier.
