Sanford Car Rental ?'s

Well I just booked a pretty amazing fare on Allegiant Air that flies into Sanford. Now comes the question I should have asked before I booked the tickets

Has anyone had any luck getting decent car rental rates at the Sanford airport? If so what codes did you use? I just did a quick look and it looks like rates are almost twice the rates at MCO....so all suggestions welcome!

They guys at the Budget counter there are really nice and are great to wotrk with. They let you pick the car you want out of all the ones they have in your class and it is very reasonable. Thanks Maddies Mom...that helped quite a bit...got the total for a 1 week rental down to about $250 (full size car) from almost $400....but that is still quite a bit more than I am used to paying at MCO....

Anyone has had better luck?

You might give car service a thought. You can find a round trip ride from $180.00 and up. With car service you can go directly to your resort, less than an hour, or stop by and get some groceries on the way. Unless you have big plans outside of Disney the car will just sit around the week.

What are your dates and car class requirement? There are several good discounts available for any Florida location.

Thanks for the responses.... We do want a rental car this trip so after playing with all the codes I have a couple of options....I can get a great rate on a compact car ($128 for the week all in) but I really need something bigger (and mid and full size cars were twice that price....

Option 2 is to rent something at Sanford thru Alamo on a 1 day rental with a drop off at the car care center for about $45 all in and then pick up another rental a day later at the CCC for the rest of the week for about $140 (again full size) with a return at Sanford.

Now I just need to decide if we want to be squished all week in the compact or go to a little more trouble and expense for something bigger!!

I may go ahead and reserve both ways and then decide and cancel the one I decide not to use.....and hope something better will come along!

Hi. What are your dates? I am flying in Saturday and got the best deals from Alamo and Dollar. I currently have a rate that includes Toll Pass on a Jeep Liberty from Dollar. You have to use an American Express to pay. The code is AX24. Sanford is a great airport to fly into!
