LaWanda Page -- who often traded barbs with Redd Foxx on "Sanford and Son" -- has died.

She played Bible-toting aunt Esther Anderson on the show from 1973 to 1977.

She and Foxx were lifelong friends, even though they got plenty of laughs on the show by mercilessly insulting each other.

A friend and producer says Page died Saturday at a California hospital from diabetes complications. Page was 81.
