Apologies if this has popped up elsewhere.

In September we will be travelling back from Sanford Orlando and would like to know where we stand with our little 'issue'. My eldest, who is 20, has severe Cerebral Palsy and cannot toilet herself. She is still in nappies (diapers) for the want of a better word. We have been going to Florida for some years now and used to be able to change her in the first aid room in the departure lounge before we boarded the plane. However, a few years ago the first aid room was changed into a store cupboard and not replaced. I have been in contact with Sanford via e-mail but have been told there is nothing they can provide or do and should use the disabled toilet. I have also contacted the ADA via e-mail but have had no response. I do not think this is acceptable in the 21st century that we should have to change her on a small, cold and sometimes wet, tiled floor. To add to this she had a back operation to have spinal rods put in which makes it more uncomfortable for her also.
Can anyone suggest what we can do?
Many thanks - Kev

Is there a way that you can bring some sort of a pad for her back to make it more comfortable? Something like a exercise mat?

I would also bring something like a shower curtain to lay down before laying anything else down to keep them out of the water and what not. I would bring one that had 2 different sides, so that I know that the side with the print goes down to the floor and the other side stays clean (as much as possible). When done I would spray down both sides with a disinfectant and then place it in its own plastic bag and place with her other things for changing her.

Other than that suggestion, I don't know what else you could do. I think as long as the airport has handicapped accessible restrooms, that is all they are required to have by the ADA.

Thanks for the reply! I'm dissapointed however that there doesn't seem to be an answer. All we need is a bed and a room! The other problem we have changing her on the floor is the wife has a bad back (through age and looking after our daughter for this lentgh of time) so stooping over is not good for her either. Should we stop going to Florida perhaps - NOT ON YOUR NELLY! lol. Everything else about the place is fab.
Again thanks for the reply, it's more than the ADA could do...
