Sanford Aiirport - $39 each way!

We took this great deal. Four of us are traveling for $440 RT.

I need your help and advise about travel to/from Sanford and WDW.

We do plan to rent a car. How do I get the best deal?

Is there anything I need to know about the airport, roads, etc.?

We will be arriving late - about 9:30 p.m. and plan to go straight to our room at AsMo.

Flying Allegiant on Thursday and we rented a car from National. I used a code on the nwa.com worldperks website for a discount and will earn miles. I was shocked how much more it is to rent directly from the airport but the $29 flights were well worth it for a weekend getaway.

The airport code is SFB so go to any website that compares rental car rates (i.e. Orbitz, Travelocity) and load your dates and the comparisons will show. If you have discount codes you will need to load those too or go to the individual rental car company websites. The companies that operate at SFB are listed on the airport's website at: www.orlandosanfordairport.com

As far as getting to WDW. the TOLL 417 expressway is the preferred route during the day because there is no congestion. At 10pm you can save about $6 in tolls by taking TOLL 417 northbound (instead of southbound) and it's a short hop to I-4 where it should be congestion free through downtown Orlando to WDW. If you do take I-4, use Exit 65 (Osceola Parkway) west into WDW and then left on Buena Vista Drive to All-Stars. If you decide to use TOLL 417 instead, Exit 3 is Osceola Parkway too which again you'd head west, cross over I-4 and enter WDW.
