Does anyone have a photo of the sandy chocolate castle topper? I have seen the regular white chocolate ones, but never the sandy milk chocolate one. Does it come in two sizes too?

thanks a bunch!

The answer came from Impressions. A few people looked so just FYI.

The sandy cake topper from impressions is not milk chocolate. The bakery department at the Grand Floridian coats the white chocolate topper with brown sugar to make it look sandy.

Sorry to disagree, but your incorrect. While it is true they start with the white chocolate castle, brown sugar is not what you see on the sand castle. Brown sugar requires some kind of moisture to get it to stick, and when that moisture evaporates, the brown sugar would fall off, not pretty.

The way they get it to look like wet sand is by freezing the castle, and spraying it with a combination of dark chocolate, white coating chocolate, and melted cocoa butter. When the spray hits the cold castle, it forms the tiny clumps that give it the sandy look. Then it is lightly dusted with edible glitter for a sparkle effect.

Feel free to correct me anytime! and thanks for the right answer. Sorry for the mis-info. That must be why Shelley from Impressions put "sugared" in quotation marks.

The castle on the top layer of the sand castle cake is one of the "sanded" castles. I looked at that photo so many times and never realized that the castle was the same as the white ones. Duh! here is the link.

On a lighter note. This is the first time an official source offered an answer before the boards.
