Day 2

WOW! Today was a busy day! We haven’t done a COMMANDO trip in a looooooong
time! Gary and I got up at 5:30am [8:30am Mississauga time]. We had coffee and
checked out places we would visit today on the internet.

After a BIG buffet breakky at the hotel, we headed to the MAIN area of
Tinseltown....Hollywood & Highland. We had no trouble parking because it was
9:30am....heeheehee.

It was awesome walking around a nearly people-free place! We took lots of pictures of
the Kodak Theater [Academy Awards], Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Mann’s Theater,
Walk of Fame [saw Mickey Mouses’s Star], hand & foot prints of stars, lots of shopping,
visit to the Hollywood Disney Store and a Hollywood Tour Bus. We had a great
guide....she is a tour guide/writer....everyone here is a ‘something’/’something’,
waiter/actor, cashier/director, front desk clerk/singer....etc.,. It is the friendliest place!

Our guide/writer is going to email us lots of ‘local’ info. She was awesome! Gave us
lots of advice for Emily moving here in 4 years.

The bus tour was terrific! We went to Whiskey A-Go-Go, where the Doors were
discovered, The Viper Room, Route 66, The Magic Castle, The Hollywood Sign, Capitol
Records Building, lots of “old” classic Hollywood....and more!

We left the center of Hollywood and toured Beverly Hills by car and on foot. The
weather is amazing! We walked Rodeo Dr. I even dragged Emily into FENDI!

We were getting tired of civilization and decided to hit the beaches!

We headed up Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu and had lunch. WOW! BEAUTIFUL
DRIVE! Mountains on one side of the road and the ocean on the other side!

Wanting to jump in the water, we decided to head south and saw Santa Monica, Marina
Del Rey and ended up at Venice Beach! Another WOW! We loved Venice Beach.
LOTS of head shops, clothing and jewlery! I bought a beach dress! The kids played in
the ocean and watched the surfers. Evan built his first west coast sand castle!

Sleepy and wet, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. When we got back
there was a message from Rich saying that he’ll meet us Tuesday morning and we’ll all
head to CSI NY set together! Emily is BEAMING happy! We are schedule there the
entire day!

Wednesday is Universal Studios, Thursday is Disneyland, Friday is Paramount VIP tour
and La Brea Tar Pit and Saturday is a free day to re-visit a favourite or visit something on
the B list. Emily is considering the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

We are tired and excited! More to come!

That was an action packed second day! I can't wait to hear all about the CSI NY set day! I bet she was in heaven.

Emily is moving to California? Is it for school or just because you all fell inlove and you will have a place to visit more often lol. Actually my husband wants to move there in about 5-7 years aswell. He's going to start working on his MBA to make it more of a possibility. Off to Facebook now!
