I have my Sansa in my hand and I need help. My Sansa says "synchronize to continue your music subscription". What is heaven's name does that mean? I am so flippin confused! This is such a basic MP3 player and I feel so inept.

Ironincally I just bought a Sansa for my Dfi (xmas present) and there are two USB modes. One is for transferring stuff to it via the program that came with it or drag and drop from your computer. The other mode is for subscription music services. I don't really know any more than that.

Scroll to the setup menu and check the USB mode. MTP is for subscription services and MSD (or whatever the other is named) is for the operation described above.

What were you trying to do?

I was attempting to drag and drop from Windows Media Player (where all my stuff is at) to my Sansa. A few play just fine and the others say I need to sync. ARGH! I am pretty much computer literate, but this one makes my head hurt.

I don't know how to do that. I only played with it for a bit to make sure it worked. It was a refurb.

i have one too! i wish i could help, but if i want something done i hand it to my brother and say here's what i want, now do it! lol. :rotfl:

If you are in Windows Media player...highlight the song that you want to add, right click it and click Add to Sync List. When you get all of the songs that you want, click Sync, and they will all be transferred to the player. If its a USB problem, hit Menu on the player, and the scroll to Settings, then to USB and make sure that Auto Detect is selected.

Thank you for the info. Hopefully this evening I can solve my great Sansa mystery. :thumbsup2

You might have to drag over your music licensing file. Or I suppose the syncing with Windows Media Player will do that.

In Windows Media, 9 Series, copy via "Copy to Cd or Device". It's that easy. ;)
