has anyone ever wore the Dr. Scholl's sandals to the park or anywhere alot of walking was involved? If so, how did you make out with them?

Do you mean the original Dr Scholl's? The wooden sole with the single leather strap across the top of the foot? I would run far and fast from that sort of shoe for walking at any sort of amusement park. I would think they'd be miserable, not only on your feet but also on your knees and lower back!

You should wear something with some cushion!

Well my mom wears Dr. Scholl's sneakers and she loves them. Her feet barely ever hurt. I assume the sandels would be the same kind of cushions so I think you'd be okay.

My family uses Tevas and we love them. Never have had problems even when they have gotten wet.

I had a pair of the Dr. Scholl's sandals...not the old wooden ones...recent with the double insoles and hated them. The footbed had seams on it and it ended up rubbing a blister on the ball of my foot. The pair of sandals I bought to replace them was a pair of the Earth First shoes...Wally World and they have lasted me 2 summers, including a trip to WDW and a DCL cruise. I love them, but they are showing some wear so I found a new pair of Easy Spirit sandals for the upcoming trip. My aunt swears by Easy Spirit...we'll see. In either case, I find sandals that have a suede footbed and comfortable straps (both of mine have a fabric that is like wetsuit material...neoprene?) so that the straps don't rub against my toes when I step.

Okay I keep hearing about these Tevas. What are they?!

I have two pair of the Teva Pretty Rugged Nylon sandals. They are really comfortable - my first pair is almost 6 years old. They still look and feel great. I bought a pair of the Pretty Rugged Leather ones and they weren't as comfortable to me.

The website is www.teva.com if you want to see more info.

Hope this helps! :wizard:
