Sandals or Trainers?

I am a dedicated sandal wearer, year round. If I could be, I'd be barefoot all the time. :rotfl2:

However, I have always followed the advice of breaking in a pair of comfortable tennis shoes the months before a Disney trip. I always thought that wearing sandals would equal blisters. Most of the sandals I wear are backless, so there would also be the slip-off factor. But I'll tell you, if there are in fact sandals that are snug fit and comfy enough to wear for 12 hours (thereby saving me from squeezing my sad feet into tennies), let me in on the secret!! LOL

I've never tried on the Crocs...are they really that comfortable?

My DS's refuse to wear sandals, even in the summer. So does my DH. I wear them regardless of the weather or the occasion, so it would be a worthwhile investment to get some new ones. I don't have much time to break them in tho, only 20 days to go!!!

mAlien, have you tried Ryka tennies? They're designed to be wider in the toe box. I got my first pair on the advice of an aerobics instructor about 10 years ago, and have worn them ever since. Love, love, LOVE them!

No, but I will look into them. Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm so used to hiking in the mountains up here in the Northwest that I never could get used to wearing sandals. I prefer my Merrel hiking shoes, even when going to the Disney parks. They're so comfortable that I can't just stand around in them. I HAVE to be walking somewhere. And by the end of the day, my feet feel great. Plus, my feet don't sweat, because they breathe so well. Major plus for those around me when the shoes come off :teeth:

I only wear tennis shoes when I go to the gym. I'm definately a sandals person.

I usually wear my Tevas in the parks. DH wears tennis shoes because he is not as used to Tevas as I am. I got some Crocs a month ago (based on so many reviews on the WDW board) and that is what I've been wearing lately, so I think I'll take those to DL in August and alternate with my Tevas.
