Sandals on Forbidden Journey

I wouldn't risk it. I think you are allowed to sit on them.

I never wear sneakers, so my choice is i guess to sit on them or put them in the locker. But, GROSS, who wants to walk from the locker to the ride with no shoes??!!

my wife only wears sandels to the park and thats what she did when she rode FJ last year :thumbsup2

I was wearing flip flops the first time on the ride. The loading guy never even said a word to me about taking them off. I'm not sure how I didn't realize when I got on, but as soon as we turned the first corner I reached down and grabbed them. I dont think they would have fallen off (they're very snug) but geez.

For your own safety, please don't walk barefoot through the queue. Not only is it liability on Universal's end (if you cut yourself on something, they could be at fault for not enforcing it) but also for common sense reasons. You're more than welcome to sit on them or hold them, but keep them with you please.

What type of ride is this ?
It's a dark ride similar to Spiderman. You move through different rooms mixed with the real sets and also curved screens to simulate flying through Hogwarts. Your ride vehicle is a 4 seat bench mounted on a robotic arm. The robotic arm you can't see, but it turns you, moves you up and down, even on your back, but never upside-down. The seat is designed so which your legs do dangle, which is why people ask about loose fitting shoes.

Here's a picture of the load platform. The ride is similar to Haunted Mansion, mean the ride never stops moving, so to enter and exit, you must walk onto a moving belt moving the same speed as the ride vehicle. Here you can see the benches, as well as a bit of the arm moving through a cut out through the wall behind the benches.

No worries. I figured everyone could tell I was kidding about that. I wear the paper booties at airport security. I'm not about to walk barefoot at an amusement park and mess up my pedicure. ;)

My boyfriend walked barefoot in the McDonalds parking lot the other day (to throw away our trash--- weather was nice so we sat in the car) he then got in the car and was completely disgusted with himself and proceeded to wetone's wipe his feet.

I wear sandals to Disney -- but sneakers to Universal, because there are just too many "dangly" rides... and I hate sitting on my sandals.

I'd like that, but I only wear crocs sandals. I have a bad back, neck and knees. And, crocs work for me. The crocs sandals with backs don't work for me. The crocs cleo are the most comfy sandals on earth. Seriously. I own two in every color.

I always hold onto mine.

Just wanted to add that if anyone thinks about taking off their shoes and putting them in a locker or leaving with someone, the ride attendants will ask you if you have your shoes with you when you sit down. I went on FJ the other day and they couldn't see my flip flops since they were behind me and they asked. I've also seen it happen on Dragon Challenge. These girls left their shoes with a non-rider and ended up having to go back and get them.

This has actually happened to me too. I had to pull my shoes out and show the guy. I forgot about that til now.

I wore my Cleos on FJ last year and they were fine. I was paranoid about them falling off though so I would probably take them off and sit on them next time.
