Sandal / Flip-flop situation

I usually wear lightweight, comfy sneakers because of all of the miles of walking, but I recently bought some nice arch-supporting flip flops. Does anyone have any experience with bringing flip-flops and riding with them? Do you have to sit on them? Thanks!

You have to sit on them on Dragon Challenge but most other rides you can hold them.

Just bring your regular shoes too. I just had a marathon amusement park day and somehow only brought 2 pairs of shoes- both flip flops. No idea why I did that! They were both great, supportive shoes but I got a horrible hot spot. And then I had no other pair that didn't rub in the same place. Ugh.

I always wear flip flops!
Can't stand hot sweaty sneakers :(
Although if you plan on dashing... I mean walking quickly.... at rope drop, it could be a problem.

My daughter (15 yo) wore flip flops on RRR and one flew off! We had a good laugh and had to buy her new shoes in the park.

Dr doom fear fall also has you kick off your flip flops before they shoot you up. I always laugh when they lower you and there are 3-4 pairs of shoes hanging out.

Body Glide helps so much to prevent hot spots!

I have worn flip flops to both parks. When I rode Forbidden Journey I just put them behind my lower back.

Easy.

Ok this might be a silly question, but do you sit and then take them off? I always feel so rushed getting on that ride, like I don't have time to take my flip flops off. When I leave them on I spend the whole ride panicking they are going o fall off.

Hiya - I prefer to wear flip flops too but take a pair of slip on shoes (usually ballet flats, they fold up really well) for the Dragon Challenge, Forbidden Journey etc - I always feel rushed getting on and off the rides so its easier just to pop them in my bag and put it in a locker. I know it can be a bother carrying a bag but sometimes you just need to carry stuff with you (suncream, wallet, eye glasses etc)

Hope this helps

Not a silly question at all. I sit down and then before "takeoff" I place them behind my back.

But maybe that's not the way for everyone. I am still fairly young and mobile. But my father in law took his off before he approached his seat.

Lol. Nothing worse than getting locked into your seat only to find out you can't bend your feet up to your locked-in arms. Goodbye sandals!
