Sand in swimsuits

We went on the Thanksgiving cruise in 3 of my girls bathing suits have sand in the fabric. I cannot get it out its between the 2 layers of the swim suits.

Anyone else have this issue or any solution on how to get it out?

we have sand in ours still from 11/6, lol. The best thing we have found is just lots of rinsing and no-heat tumbling in the past... I haven't found time to do it this time!

I have had this - just cut the liner and rinse it out then sew up the liner again.

thanks! I did make a small hole in the liner and it ran...UGH! Oh well guess its just an excuse to buy new swim suits...glad we did the cruise at the end of summer and not the beginning!

we had this happen as well, I tried rinsing & rinsing but could not get it out. So I washed all the sand down to the seam at the crotch, then slit the seam open and washed the sand out. You could easily resew that seam shut & it would be hidden; we were going to the ocean again soon after our cruise so I left the slit open (and that became her "beach" swimsuit). When we go to the beach from now on I will make sure that we don't take any lined swimsuits. Good luck!

I've noticed my girls' suits and rashguards get sand stuck between the weave, not only the crotch. I usually stretch the fabric and let water run over it. Cold tumble in the dryer helps a bit too.
If someone could find a sure fire solution I'd pay good money to find out how to get it all out easliy!

We live near the beach and have yet to figure this one out.

On the other hand, baby powder will remove the sand from your skin.

The bathingsuits, however, will remain full of sand until you either cut out the lining or throw them out. The kids don't seem to mind so we just keep them with sand. (You should see the sandy dryer lint, though. Ick!)
