Sand Everywhere?

What has everyone’s experience been with the sandy beach areas of the HRH and PB pools? When I hang out by a pool I’m not looking for a beach feel and don’t want the kids tracking sand into the pool or the room. Has this been a problem for anyone? Sand at a resort pool is a new concept for me so I’m curious. Thanks all.

There is a place/faucet you can rinse the sand off before exiting the pool area. I have told my kids to do this and they are able to wash enough sand off so that it does not track sand into the hotel room.

In my experience, it is very different from the beach. In the beach, it is hard to wash all the sand off. At the pools, it is only at your feet (unless you have a toddler who plays in the sand), so it is easy to wash off and generally does not go beyond the pool area. You can easily walk along the outskirts without getting any sand on your shoes.

In my experience, this is true at both Hard Rock and Portofino Bay.

Good to know...I was worried about this as I am looking at both resorts. I do not have a toddler, although DD12 is not to be trusted at times....

100% use baby powder!! It will take the sand off easier than water!

It’s pretty easy to rinse it off at the faucet. We were also far enough away from the pool at PB that any left on us after rinsing was gone by the time we were back at the room.

HRH only has sand on one side. The other side (the side with the bar) just has normal concrete or whatever is usually by a pool. The sand is easy to avoid if you choose, but we love it!
