I've heard amazing things about Sanaa at AK Lodge and would love to go after our day at AK. But I understand it's out by the villas. Is it a trek to get out there? Is it worth the trek?

It isn't a Trek from AK, the bus ride over is about 5 minutes. Well worth it, even if it took longer then that. The Villas is right next door to the Lodge, first stop off the bus

:ditto:

It's not much of a jaunt by bus, unless you're coming from one of the monorail resorts.
The food there is wonderful, Sis and I ate there on 5/14 and you have to try the Naan bread service, that's almost a meal in and of itself!

If you don't take the bus, it's about a ten minute walk, and I think it's a pleasant walk. The food is delish and the views incredible. I think it's worth the little extra time it takes to get there. :)

I think its totally worth it! The food and the restaurant setting remain at the top of my all time favorite restaurants I have ever been to. I have eaten there 4 times and look forward to returning in December!

Totally worth it!!! We made the trip over from the Coronado Springs after a day at Blizzard Beach and it was the best meal the entire trip! The Naan bread was fabulous, the food amazing and the animal view was great (we had a table for 7 at the window). Plus we were early and they got us in within 2 mins of checking in...I would go back there over any other restaurant on property!

Totally worth it! We took 2 buses there and 2 buses back! If you are at AK its super convenient to get there! Just make sure you get off the bus at the right stop!

Good question.... I was wondering the same thing. Although I'm sure it'll be worth it. I've never heard anything but amazing things about Sanaa.

We enjoy going to AKL to explore and eat dinner. If you walk from Jambo house to Sanaa it is about 10 minutes, I would take the bus. For some reason though we did not like Sanaa. We were super excited about it and really wanted to love it, but it was just ok, and we love Indian food. I would prefer Jiko or Boma but everyone else seems to like Sanaa. Perhaps we had an off night or didn't order well.

:wizard: We tried Sanaa for the first time last summer and can't wait to go back this year! The food and service were excellent, the atmosphere is relaxing and the wine flight was amazing! You can walk around the resort and see the animals before or after dinner, then walk over to AKL and stroll around....just a great evening.
We loved the bread service....it was delicious. I would highly recommend Sanaa.

To us, yes Sanaa is worth it. I have never had a bad meal or bad service there for that matter.

If you have the chance GOOOO! It is by far our favorite restaurant in WDW. The servers there are fantastic and the food is wonderful. The last time I was there they had switched up the menu a bit and the chai cream (my absolute favorite dessert) was no longer offered by itself and only as part of a trio. I asked our server if I could just have one chai cream...he suggested I go all out and have a trio if just that. So he brought me out three chai creams. I was in HEAVEN!

My Hubby and I are staying at AKV after our cruise a couple days in Feb and I am planning to make an ADR for a late lunch on our arrival day.:thumbsup2

I have read nothing but great things and seeing this thread even makes me more excited.
I am interested in trying the Tandoori chicken for lunch with the naan bread! YUM!! The butter chicken sounds good too!

I figure it will get dark early in Feb so if we do a late lunch we can still view the animals and then enjoy the rest of our evening at Jambo house.:goodvibes

Thanks for all the great posts about Sanaa.....

We have a 5:00 dinner reservation there in a month. I'm very excited. I keep reading to make sure you get off at the right stop but what is the right stop?

We are coming from MK. Where do we go from there? Please be as specific as you can. We have never been to the AKL before so I have no visual to go on.

If you are coming from MK get on the ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE BUS and then you will want to get off at KIDANI VILLAGE. They usually stop there first and then go to Jambo house. Jambo is the main lodge where you have Boma and Jiko so listen to your bus driver. Your stop is Kidani and you go right in and Sanaa is there...You can not miss it! Very easy....;)

We stay at Jambo house a lot, but I have never tried Sanaa. I am excited to eat there during our stay in feb.:thumbsup2
