DD loved the T Rex restaurant last visit. This upcoming trip we have less park days and no plans to go to AKL. Will be staying at the swan. Trying to decide between the two. Trex is easier to get to than Sanaa which is a draw. Sanaa has really good looking food! Also we have a zoo near our home we visit yearly so it is not like DD does not get to see safari animals. Thoughts?

I've never been to Sanaa. But i've been to TRex a few times because of my DS. We both like it there. Its a fun atmosphere.

Sanaa has great food and a wonderful atmosphere. TREX is very fun. I'd probably try Sanaa since it's new unless your DD really has her heart set on TREX.

The nice part of going to Sanaa is that you can see the animals at the resort afterwards. Its pretty neat. The resort is gorgeous btw.

Saunas hands down. T-Rex was VERY loud to the point we couldn't hear the people at our table or the wait staff, and the food mediocre at best. We went as my son had his heart set on it, but even he hasn't asked to go back.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want great food in a beautiful, quiet atmosphere and gorgeous resort, go Sanaa. If you want mediocre food in a really loud restaurant with pretty cool animatronics, TRex. My vote would be Sanaa. We've done TRex twice and just thinking about it now gives me a headache!

You can always take a cab or uber to AKL to make transportation easier.

While I love Sanaa, sounds like this is maybe your DD's one dining pick? If so, I'd go with T-Rex for the atmosphere. It's one of those brash, bold & unique dining experiences esp for kids. Not every child has a Rainforest Cafe in their city. T-Rex is a step up from RC in my opinion. The food is no where near the same level as Sanaa. More of a generic tavern menu. However, food isn't everything at WDW and sometimes the atmosphere & unique animatronics trump for your family & esp your child.

I do not care for the food at T-Rex at ALL. My vote is for Sanaa!

I would say Sanaa, but I am partial b/c AKV is our home DVC resort and I love eating there.

FWIW, the resort also has interesting programs, both in the lobby with some kind of demonstration by a park ranger (examples: "match the poop to the animal", getting to play with different kinds of African instruments), or out on the overlooks where you can talk to them about the animals and their experiences back home. So you and your DD can definitely get more out of your visit to the resort than simply eating dinner.

I'll admit we've never done TRex as the food and atmosphere don't appeal to us, but that said I think you'd be hard pressed to find a non-signature table service as good as Sanaa. Now if your daughter loved T-Rex I'm not sure Sanaa would be her thing, but if you want amazing food and a chance to check out the savannah you can't go wrong with Sanaa
